Tinskani mourns the death of his friend and mentor, Salvador. His partner, Citlali, urges him to attend the funeral with her, but Tinskani is haunted by the photograph of his friend's corpse. He'd rather wander through the town’s carnival, camera in hand, seeking to replace that ghostly portrait with new ones.

Like every day Delhi Street life, everyone running late for office and mentally drained, an office going man gets stuck in a never-ending traffic jam that feels uncomfortably close to his own messy life. As drivers shout and blame each other, the city quietly fills with SMOG—everyone contributing, no one owning it. In a small but telling moment of clarity, when we are entangled in our egos leading to a dead end, a simple ignored choice might give way to an infinite change.

Many of our Toronto students have experienced being new at some point: They’ve moved to new schools, new neighbourhoods, and even new countries. They created a story about the difficulties of trying to fit into a new environment while still being true to yourself. By exaggerating the experience for comedic effect, their film puts viewers in their shoes, and shows how overwhelming it can be to be the new kid.
