In November 2022, outstanding young French performers T. Fouchenneret, B. Borgolotto, and the Quatuor Arod string quartet performed at a concert in the Theresian Hall of the Břevnov Monastery, playing compositions by C. Franck, E. Chausson, and R. Schumann. The Prague audience enjoyed the beautiful sounds of French music... Pianist Théo Fouchenneret is the winner of the 2018 Geneva International Competition and, despite his youth, is already one of France's top pianists, regularly performing with a whole host of the best French performers. Boris Borgolotto is a star of the contemporary young French violin scene. He too has won a number of competitions and given many prestigious performances around the world. Equally successful is the French string quartet Quatuor Arod, which was formed in 2013 at the renowned Paris Conservatory.

Die Zauberflöte is one of Mozart’s most famous works and one of the most beloved of the entire operatic repertoire. Generations of spectators have been fascinated by the melodies and adventures of Papageno, the Queen of the Night, Tamino, and Pamina, the ordeals faced by the young lovers, and the work’s inexhaustible allegorical depth. The director Romeo Castellucci has deliberately stepped back from the narrative dimension of the opera in order to explore its raw emotion and its philosophical heart. For his part, the conductor Antonello Manacorda brings Mozart’s immortal music to life with the help of an outstanding cast that includes Sabine Devieilhe, one of today’s finest interpreters of the Queen of the Night.

At the peak of his career, Ivo Pogorelich was filmed at Racconigi Castle in Italy playing four major works by Chopin as well as sonatas by Haydn an dMozart. Director Horant H. Hohlfeld captures the pianist's virtuosity in revealing close-ups. "Ta-ta-ta-taaa" - everyone knows these four notes and they are more than 200 years old. This world-famous motif was invented by Ludwig van Beethoven - the rebel without a wig who ignored the laws of music, the world parade champion (more than 20 times in Vienna), the slob who dried his wet shirts on the piano, and an indomitable man who, despite being deaf, created music that today symbolizes the brotherhood of nations. Instead of working through the artist's biography, the program rummages through Beethoven's moving boxes and brings to light events, peculiarities and musical facts about the jubilarian Ludwig van Beethoven in a humorous and knowledgeable way. Excerpts from Beethoven's symphonies show the picture of a composer between the classical and romantic periods, who mastered folkloristic, dance-like lightness as well as depictions of nature, grand symphonies and themes with catchy tunes.

Before the Trojan War, Agamemnon gathered the Greek armies at the port of Aulis. The goddess Diane sent unfavorable winds to prevent the Greeks from sailing. Her oracle set a condition for Agamemnon: to earn the right to sail forth and destroy an innocent country, he would have to sacrifice his own daughter. Agamemnon accepted these terms and killed his young daughter Iphigénie on the altar. In his play Iphigenia in Tauris Euripides imagines that Diane plucked Iphigénie from that altar and delivered her to a temple in distant Tauride, where Iphigénie began to serve the enemy Scythians as Diane’s high priestess—all the while Iphigénie’s family believing her dead.

With his sixteen string quartets, Beethoven forged the backbone of this repertoire. The six quartets Opus 18 show the composer’s mastery of the classical form. In contrast, the five middle quartets burst this form, with a very free treatment of the instruments and their development. Most profoundly and spiritual, the late quartets went far beyond what people were ready to hear at that time and are still intellectually challenging. The Belcea Quartet is well-known for its dynamic and compelling interpretations. The Quartet embarked on the complete cycle of Beethoven string quartets, playing the whole program within twelve days and brings a freshness to their interpretation of Beethoven’s string quartets, and draws forth a great range of colours, from sweetness to strength, from solemnity to impetuous force. Including the documentary "On the Paths of the Beethoven String Quartets", directed by Jean Claude Mocik.

A superb adaptation of Purcell's the Indian Queen, staged and directed by Peter Sellars and performed in 2013 at the Teatro Real in Madrid. Peters Sellars combines John Dryden and Robert Howard's libretto with a short-story written by the Nicaraguan writer Rosario Aguilar, La niña blanca y los pájaros sin pies.
