Four sisters come of age in America in the aftermath of the Civil War.

The food in Plumcrest School Cafeteria has gone on strike to protest the poor lunchroom manners of the children! After Banana issues a two-week ultimatum, the students take some positive steps toward better lunchroom manners.

Madeline attempts to stop the theft of the Mona Lisa in the Louvre, but no one believes her; so, she is sent to a finishing school in London. But now the thieves are also in London, and they will try to rob the Crown Jewels! Would Madeline be able to stop them?

Two polite gophers find that their home, a tree, has been cut down and taken away. They find it in a log pile about to be taken inside a processing factory. Following it into there, they become caught in the daunting machinery.

Chuck, a young loner, is invited by a neighbor to a dinner party, but turns it down. He finds himself visited by "Chuck of the future"--himself at age 21. "Chuck of the future" knows the reason the current Chuck doesn't want to go to the party--he's embarrassed over his poor table manners. Donald visits Daisy. When he can't open a window, he flies into a rage and practically destroys her house. She won't see him again until he takes care of that temper. He orders a mail-order insult machine, which promises that if Donald can endure 10 minutes of abuse without losing his temper, he'll be cured. It proceeds to deliver physical and verbal abuse, and Donald is cured. He goes back and Daisy tests him on the balky window.
