Silvio Forever

Nanni Moretti takes another look at the ebbs and flows of life in April 1996, as he becomes a father for the first time and seems unable to focus on his documentary about the upcoming national elections.

Anthology short film with segments by nine directors against Silvio Berlusconi and its Forza Italia party — released ahead of the 1994 Italian general elections, which Berlusconi nevertheless won in a landslide. In Nanni Moretti's segment, he and Silvio Orlando reprise their roles from The Yes Man (1991).

A young German pacifist finds documents in an old castle that prove Hitler didn't kill himself in April 1945, but fled to Spain disguised as a monk, and now works as a comedian in a remote town. He finds the former Führer in a small theater rehearsing a Charlot parody.

Girlfriend in a Coma is a documentary that exposes the dire situation of Italian politics and the process of economic and social decline the country has suffered during the last two decades, treating the decline as a warning of what might happen elsewhere in the West. The decline has occurred amid a collapse of moral values and the victory of “Mala Italia” over “Buona Italia”. It has been lauded as being ground-breaking in its creative combination of animation, interviews and hard facts, and has caused fierce controversy in Italy.

Insatiable Coeds is a compilation video. You get some very nice moments from Landon Hall, Brandy Davis, Gabriella Hall and the very striking Tammy Parks. Scenes of each of these wonderful softcore starlets are broken up by a handful of other excellent players like Ashley Rhey, Kristen Knittle, Petra Sexton, Mellara Gold, Michelle Trongone and Dana Plato.

"Loro", in two parts, is a period movie that chronicles, as a fiction story, events likely happened in Italy (or even made up) between 2006 and 2010. "Loro" wants to suggest in portraits and glimps, through a composite constellation of characters, a moment in history, now definitively ended, which can be described in a very summary picture of the events as amoral, decadent but extraordinarily alive. Additionally, "Loro" wishes to tell the story of some Italians, fresh and ancient people at the same time: souls from a modern imaginary Purgatory who, moved by heterogeneous intents like ambition, admiration, affection, curiosity, personal interests, establish to try and orbit around the walking Paradise that is the man named Silvio Berlusconi.

Throughout the Islamic world, each year hundreds of women are shot, stabbed, strangled or burned to death by male relatives because they are thought to have “dishonoured” their families. They may have lost their virginity, refused an arranged marriage or left an abusive husband. Even if a woman is raped or merely the victim of gossip, she must pay the price. Crimes of Honour documents the terrible reality of femicide – the belief that a girl’s body is the property of the family, and any suggestion of sexual impropriety must be cleansed with her blood. We meet women in hiding from their families, a brother who describes his reasons for killing the sister he loved, and a handful of women who have committed themselves to the protection of young women in danger of losing their lives.

The young talented composer Ole Sand and his wife, the operetta actress Alice Sand, live a very stormy marriage. Due to Ole's bohemian, restless lifestyle, it is shipwrecked. However, they can agree on one thing, the divorce. It proceeds in beautiful harmony. Alice meets the extremely elegant businessman Christoffer Martensen, whom she marries in a small idyllic village church. He casually tells his future bride that he has read that the expression Tobiasnätter dates back to the Middle Ages, and that in this way one paid tribute to one's bride by being as chaste as the prophet Tobias was in the first three days of marriage. Their marriage also remains so, one day slipping away after another, triviality is taking the life of Alice.

Jean and Sheryl are getting married. He is Afrikaans. She is Jewish. Their families are tense and Lukas, the best man - has been on a drinking spree and forgotten to confirm the band. To complicate matters more, the ancestral ring has been delayed because Sheryl's relatives are lost en-route to the wedding.

In Calais Spike meets Goldie. Bill warns him against her, but Spike ignores the warning until he finds Bill's tatoo on Goldie as well.
