Both concerts followed shortly after the release of their debut studio album BABYMETAL, on February 26, 2014, with the album and the shows having been announced at the LEGEND "1997" concert. Both shows featured the full support of a live metal band called the KAMI BAND. For RED NIGHT, fans were required to wear corsets around their necks, reminiscent of their first solo show, the Corset Festival at Meguro Rokumeikan.
BLACK NIGHT LEGEND "DOOMSDAY" was a concert held on March 2, 2014, at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. BABYMETAL became the youngest band to perform at the venue. During BLACK NIGHT, after performing all their songs, BABYMETAL concluded the first chapter of "Metal Resistance" and announced their journey to perform overseas. A large coffin appeared on stage, and the members entered it as it rose, ending the "Summoning Ceremony." At the end, LEGEND "Y" and LEGEND "M" in Europe were announced on the screen.
