In 1825, English peer Lord John Morgan is cast adrift in the American West. Each story explores what it means to belong to a specific community. A Thousand Roads is a fictional work, produced by National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) to explore the human context of the NMAI’s collections. The film is striking visually, and presents through its beauty and its stories an imaginative entry into knowing about Native people living in the vast indigenous geography that comprises the Americas. Rather than presenting a conventional historical perspective, the film is composed of short contemporary fictions about individuals, grounding them in emotional truths to which an audience can easily relate.

Joe Enders is a gung-ho Marine assigned to protect a "windtalker" - one of several Navajo Indians who were used to relay messages during World War II because their spoken language was indecipherable to Japanese code breakers.

Based on a local legend and set in an unknown era, it deals with universal themes of love, possessiveness, family, jealousy and power. Beautifully shot, and acted by Inuit people, it portrays a time when people fought duels by taking turns to punch each other until one was unconscious, made love on the way to the caribou hunt, ate walrus meat and lit their igloos with seal-oil lamps.

A young Indian brave attempts to bring peace to two warring tribes.

As Tom undergoes his change of heart, the events of the war unfold in large-scale grandeur.

Native American business partners, Marty and Jess, embark on a journey to the American Southwest to shoot a film. The fun lasts until Jess vanishes without a trace leaving a worried Marty to deal with her past, false allegations and racism while trying to find her friend.
