At times filmed like a video diary, this is a very intensely depicted story of grief that could readily apply to just about any parent who has lost a child. In this case, it's "Yanis" (Matthieu Dahan) and "Hugo" (Vincent Marie) who are having to come to terms with not just their loss after "Dylan" suffered a fatal aneurysm, but also with how they are going to deal with each other. Lots of dimly lit photography, a thunderstorm, and a slightly underwhelming score don't really help this stand out as a piece of cinema and though the sentiment is writ large (especially as they dispose of the boy's toys) and the acting quite emotional, I felt a bit like an intruder in a scenario in which I simply didn't belong. As ever - the curse of low-budget short films - the audio levels need work.
