Yu Feihong

Biography

Feihong Yu is a young Chinese actress, best known to Americans for her highlight role in "The Joy Luck Club" as "Ying Ying", the young mother who drowns her baby after being betrayed by her husband. She was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. The daughter of nuclear engineers, Faye was trained from age six in Chinese Classical Dance. She enrolled in the Beijing Film Academy Acting Department in 1989. While on vacation in Shanghai from the Academy she was introduced to Wayne Wang and "The Joy Luck Club" production staff, who were on a location scout. Although they had not intended to cast anyone from mainland China, they were impressed by her talent, experience, and fresh good looks and gave her the role of the most tragic character in the film. The production brought her to the U.S. for the first time, because the role, although set in China, was shot in entirely in San Francisco. After "The Joy Luck Club" Faye appeared in the Hong Kong film "Tian Di" with star Andy Lau. She returned to Beijing at the invitation of her school to become an Assistant Professor. She moved to Los Angeles in late 1994 to establish herself for work in English language Motion Pictures and Television.

Sumiko Fuji

Biography

Sumiko Fuji (富司 純子 Fuji Sumiko, born 1 December 1945) is a Japanese actress. The daughter of a producer at the Tōei studios, she originally began acting under the name Junko Fuji (藤 純子), becoming famous as the female lead in yakuza films against such stars as Ken Takakura and Kōji Tsuruta. She even starred in her own series as the knife-wielding gambler Red Peony (the "Hibotan Bakuto" or "Red Peony Gambler" series). Initially retiring in 1972 after getting married, she began appearing on TV in 1974 using the name "Sumiko Fuji." She later returned to films and expanded her acting repertoire. She won a Blue Ribbon Award for best supporting actress in 1999 and 2006. She is married to the kabuki actor Onoe Kikugorō VII and is the mother of the actress Shinobu Terajima and the kabuki actor Onoe Kikunosuke V. Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. Frank Turner

Francis Edward Turner (born 28 December 1981), is an English punk and folk singer-songwriter from Meonstoke, Hampshire. He began his career as the vocalist of post-hardcore band Million Dead, then embarked upon a primarily acoustic-based solo career following the band's split in 2005. In the studio and during live performances, Turner is accompanied by his backing band, The Sleeping Souls, which consists of Ben Lloyd (guitar, mandolin), Tarrant Anderson (bass), Matt Nasir (piano, mandolin) and Callum Green (drums). To date, Turner has released nine solo albums, four rarities compilation albums, one retrospective "best of" album, one split album and five EPs. Turner's ninth and most recent studio album, FTHC was released on 11 February 2022 and reached number 1 in the UK albums chart in the week following its release.

Bob Walter

Bob Walter was born as Baptistine Dupré in 1853 in Toulouse, France (some sources also mention 1856 in Blidah, Algeria, which was French at the time). She was raised in Paris, but not much is known about her during this period. She earned some fame in the early 1890s when she created and performed a line of pantomimes and luminous dances in several Parisian theaters. Next she appeared as a lion tamer in the Gaité Theatre and her star soon rose quickly. Soon thereafter she turned in a totally different direction: she became the first woman to open a garage in Paris at No.83 Avenue de la Grande Armée, which was the center of the French automobile scene, and began dealing in automobiles. Arlene Dahl

Arlene Carol Dahl (August 11, 1925 – November 29, 2021) was an American actress active in films from the late 1940s. She was one of the last surviving stars from the Classical Hollywood cinema era. She was also an author and entrepreneur. She founded two companies, Arlene Dahl Enterprises and Dahlia, a fragrance company. Born in Minnesota to parents of Norwegian descent, Dahl started her acting career in musicals before transitioning to film, where she gained significant roles in MGM productions such as "My Wild Irish Rose" (1947) and "The Bride Goes Wild" (1948). Dahl also starred in adventure films, notably "Caribbean Gold" (1952) and "Desert Legion" (1953). Despite her acting success, Dahl faced financial challenges, declaring bankruptcy in 1981. She then entered the field of astrology, writing a syndicated column and operating a premium phoneline company. She also wrote numerous books on beauty and astrology. In her personal life, Dahl had six husbands, including actors Lex Barker and Fernando Lamas, and was the mother to three children the eldest of whom is actor Lorenzo Lamas. She lived between New York City and West Palm Beach, Florida, until her death in 2021. Beth Kennedy

Beth Kennedy received the Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Natalie Shaffer Award for Emerging Comic Actress. Film appearances include New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day and Georgia Rule all directed by the legendary Garry Marshall. She also appeared in the film Race to Witch Mountain as well as many independent movies. Television appearances include Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Stalker, The Bridge, Anger Management, CSI, Review with Forrest MacNeil and The Gilmore Girls among others. On stage, Beth performed in Garry Marshall's opera directing debut, The Grand Duchess, at the Los Angeles Opera as well as in numerous main stage productions with the Troubadour Theater Company at Mr. Marshall's Falcon Theatre in Burbank, California. Her theater credits include frequent appearances with the Troubadour Theater Company of which she is a producing associate. She has performed and co-produced in most of their sold-out productions. At the Getty Villa, Beth co-produced and performed in Abbamemnon, For the Birds and Oedipus the King, Mama! (Ovation Award winner for Production of a Musical). Beth can be seen in numerous national television commercials including Monopoly Millionaire National Lottery, Daisy Sour Cream, Toyota, Comcast, Chex Mix, Playstation, Walgreens and Dreyer's Ice Cream among others. She received her MFA in Theatre from California Institute of the Arts and her BA in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University.

Sinéad Moira Cusack (born 18 February 1948) is an Irish actress. Her first acting roles were at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, before moving to London in 1969 to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. She has won the Critics' Circle and Evening Standard Awards for her performance in Sebastian Barry's Our Lady of Sligo. Cusack has received two Tony Award nominations: once for Best Leading Actress in Much Ado About Nothing (1985), and again for Best Featured Actress in Rock 'n' Roll (2008). She has also received five Olivier Award nominations for As You Like (1981), The Maid's Tragedy (also 1981), The Taming of the Shrew (1983), Our Lady of Sligo (1998) and Rock 'n' Roll (2007).
