Man's Desire

The film is a romance about a young woman named Suwanna who is the object of affection for many men. In her search for true love, she has many adventures and mishaps, including overcoming her father's disapproval, before finally finding her soulmate. It was one of first feature films to be made in Thailand, and was the first Hollywood co-production in Thailand. Unfortunately, nothing of the film exists today except for some promotional materials and other ephemera held at the Thailand National Film Archive.

This serial, starring boxer Leslie King, is presumed lost.

Kerry Harlan (La Rocque) is unable to work because he was injured in a battle with a shark, so his youthful wife Amy (Reynolds) becomes a fashion model. While she is away from home, Bertha, the wife of his surgeon, is trying to force her attentions on Kerry and is accidentally killed in an attempt to evade her husband. After the scandal Amy is courted by Tony Channing, but she returns to her husband and finds him near death from gas fumes. Because they both attempted to make suicide, their spirits are rejected by "the other side," and learning the truth from Bertha's spirit they fight their way back to life. This film is presumed lost.

In the future (1921), an alliance of several foreign countries plot to attack the US. American officials, coming to the realisation that the country is basically defenceless, offer $1,000,000 to anyone who can come up with a weapon to defeat the invaders. Winthrop Clavering, a writer and inventor, hears of the reward and tells his friend Bartholomew Thompson, a scientist and inventor who has been working on developing flying torpedo. However, enemy agents have also heard about Thompson's project, and set out to kill him and steal his plans. This film is now considered lost.

Roman citizens celebrate their leader, Appius Claudius. However, Dentatus, an old general, expresses scorn for Appius's inexperience. The citizens attempt to attack Dentatus but a young Roman, Icilius, intervenes to save him.

Mrs. Travers, a society leader, is madly in love with Arthur Ingraham, a rising diplomat. Arthur is not in love with her and avoids her advances. He is in love with Beatrice Langton, a young debutante, to whom he becomes engaged. Mrs. Travers is furious.

John Dayton is shot by George Willis in a saloon quarrel. The deed is seen by Arline Marsdon, who gives Willis money and a marked timetable, whereby he escapes and goes further west. Mrs. Dayton is determined to bring the murderer to justice and engages the services of Craig Burton, a detective.

At the outbreak of the Civil War in the United States, the six sons of widow Beecham enlist. The seventh son is very anxious to join the army and fight for his country, but his brothers insist upon his remaining home with his mother.

This subject deals first with a woman who has lost her husband. Her two boys are now her mainstay and support. These boys are aged respectively 6 and 8. They sell papers and give their earnings to their mother. The elder of the boys is inclined to be wild and one day be is arrested for craps playing and is sent to a reformatory.

Mildred Harrison lives a quiet life and her two main loves are her rose bushes and her fiancé, Harrison. The story primarily revolves around Mildred's devotion to Harrison and her garden and the challenges their relationship faces.

George Cantor and Tom Johnson love the same girl; one wins the girl from the other and the loser leaves swearing revenge on his successful rival. A few years later, the two marry. George is a successful doctor; Tom is an unemployed laborer with a wife, a sick baby, and little food at home.

Yvette, known as a society woman, but in reality a leader of a gang of crooks, sits at the telephone, laughing at the impulsive young man at the other end. Yvette still laughs when Ralph threatens to kill himself if she does not promise to marry him.

Sir John Hayward, a noted surgeon, decides that his son Wyn, a medical student, needs a vacation as a temporary diversion from his studies. At Como, Wyn meets and falls in love with Rayetta Muir, an unprincipled actress who trifles with him. In London, Rayetta avoids seeing Wyn, ready to forget him. Wyn is crazed when he learns that Rayetta is intimate with both Lord Durhugh, an old roué, and Le Grand, a French boxer; and in a rage he chokes Rayetta and leaves her for dead. He then confesses to his father that he has killed her. Preparing to take the blame, Sir John, accompanied by Wyn, goes to Rayetta's apartment to find that she did not die after all. A lost film.

Tells a heart-rending saga of an orphan girl, whose body and soul are divided between her aged husband and a young forest officer she had fallen in love with. Being the wife of the old Choudhari has she any right to expect love from another man forms the crux of the story.

Theda Bara's vamping is at its most evil here. She plays the Russian Princess Petrovitch, who loves only her pearls. Her husband, the Prince (E.F. Roseman), sells state secrets to a spy to pay her exorbitant bills, and her response is to report him to the secret police. Then she runs off to Monte Carlo with her lover, Count Zerstoff (Emil deVarney), but she poisons him after he racks up a load of gambling losses.

Kindly widowed farmer John Hardy takes in the orphaned Ida Allen and due to her care of him adopts her. While there is a plan in place for John’s other daughter Eleanor to marry neighboring farmer Hugh Conway she has fallen in love with a wastrel, Paul Denny. Foolhardy, she elopes with Paul who quickly abandons the now pregnant Eleanor who then entreats Ida’s help. Ida comes to her aid, but Eleanor expires leaving Ida with the baby. Meanwhile Hugh and John have been led to believe Ida has disgraced them but when Denny returns looking for hush money, they learn the truth. Hugh banishes the blackard, finds and declares his love for Ida and the family is reunited.

Engine No. 19 is the pride of Tom's heart, but as he is unable to lot drink alone he is discharged. Feeling that he no longer can obtain employment, he leaves home, and soon starts on the downward path. He is about to enter a bar-room when the face of his mother haunts him. He puts aside the temptation and decides to return home. A bandit tries to overpower the engineer on the Limited, but is captured by Tom who creeps over the top of the car. He refuses a reward, but states that if he had his position back he would prove himself a man. He returns to his mother and sweetheart who have read of his heroism and are pleased to see him.

In the forest, a wood nymph played a pipe of reeds. A faun and his mate emerged from their cavern home. He left his mate, drawn to the nymph's captivating music. The faun's mate, searching for him, heard the nymph's pipes and felt a pang of fear. Following the sound, she found them. Overwhelmed by jealousy and anger at the faun's infatuation, she snatched the pipes and hurled them into the stream, breaking the nymph's spell. The faun, realizing his folly, returned to his mate, and the nymph vanished into the woods.

A 15-chapter Western serial. The serial involves the mystery of the murder of William Stillman (Wells) and the finding of the heir to his fortune. Silent Joe (Farnum) arrives in an effort to discover the murderer and prove that he is the true heir. He and the heroine Lou (Anderson) have their adventures in the mountainous terrain with its "vanishing trails." They are aided by The Shadow (Orlamond), a demented scientist with his trained dog, and several remarkable, death-dealing inventions.
