Doctor Faustus is Christopher Marlowe's most renowned and controversial work. Famous for being the first dramatised version of the Faustus tale, the play depicts the sinister aftermath of Faustus's decision to sell his soul to the Devil's henchman in exchange for power and knowledge. In the first-ever staging of this menacing drama at the Globe Theatre, Matthew Dunster's production features Paul Hilton as the arrogant, power-hungry Faustus and Arthur Darvill as the sardonic Mephistopheles, and includes several impressive magical stunts along the way.

On vacation in the Luberon, a high ranking civil servant, in love with the good old fashioned thinking, has to put up with a bunch of troublemakers in his haven of tranquillity and prevent them from watering in circles. Wife, child and mother-in-law in the front row, brother-in-law and sister-in-law as bonus gifts. Add to that a terrible heat wave and a mother left alone in her apartment in Paris... The cocktail is boiling, even explosive... with this heat it will be hard to keep it cool.

Enrico, a traveling salesman who lives in a room in Amalia's house, returns from a long trip to find that his room has been turned into a funeral chamber for the death of Gennaro, the woman's husband. Shocked, the man confides his fears to a doctor, who replies that the only real fear is that of the living, not the dead.

Attilio and Emilia are two newlyweds who love each other madly despite the extreme poverty in which they live. Their relationship is contrasted by that of Domenico and Sofia, the owners of their house, who live in constant conflict. When Christmas arrives, despite their poverty, the two young people decide to give each other gifts: Emilia agrees to cut and sell her long hair to buy a chain for her husband's watch, while Attilio sells his watch to buy a hair clip for his wife.
