A Good Time with a Bad Girl

The second installment in the classic Emmanuelle softcore film series to be helmed by director Ura Hee, Emmanuelle 2000: Emmanuelle in Paradise finds actress Holly Sampson in role originated by Sylvia Kristel. This time around, the seductress travels to such locales as Morocco and Japan, landing in passionate trysts at every turn.

In an isolated country house close to the shore near Saint-Tropez, seven young women share a bedroom. Over two days, they wake, shower, breakfast, play dress up, bathe in the sea, picnic, ride bikes, pick flowers, have a pillow fight, run on the strand, practice ballet stretches, groom themselves and each other, and laugh. Anne returns a horse to Renaud; the next day, he's in a rowboat and meets her by the pier. By the film's end, all are celebrating with the lovers.

The story revolves around a pachinko parlor worker named Shiori (Aoi) and her aspiring musician boyfriend, Tetsu. The two of them travel from Kyushu to Tokyo together and struggle to stay afloat while Tetsu chases his dream. Tetsu’s younger brother eventually shows up and the two brothers form a duo and start to play some shows together. Later, Shiori gets recruited as a gravure idol while Tetsu gets involved with a local yakuza and cheats on Shiori with another woman. Tetsu continues loving Shiori, but big city life gradually tears them apart.

This multi-media project took the form of twelve 100x65cm illustrations, 4 per relationship, an EP released as Pink Boah (Zalmroze in collaboration with Jerboah) and three experimental films backed by the three title tracks from the Pink Boah EP. Each of the three films is a self-projected character study, with the three relationships being depicted and acted out, by the artist and a placeholder model, through physical performance and touch. Visually it is most in line with the artist’s photographic series "The Gaze Upon The Male Gaze”, made for Sauce Magazine, with both the films and that photo series being highly sexploitative in nature.
