An unfaithful newly-wed wife, an estranged parent, a priest and an angry son suddenly find themselves in the most unexpected predicaments, each poised to experience their destiny, all on one fateful day.

Stefano, a philosophy grad student without a future, tries to commit suicide after his girlfriend leaves him. He is saved by Giulio, a wisecracking plumber who takes him home and teaches him the tricks of the trade. When Lucia, a woman disappointed in both men and conventional jobs who has started to work as a prostitute, calls them to repair a sink, for Stefano it's love at first sight.

A self-pitying drummer, a young couple, a passionate political activist, a mistreated ice cream worker, two love/hate best friends, and a party-goer each follow their own stories that blend into each other over the course of a single summer day.
