Jeppy Bass is the story of a college student's struggles to make his thesis short film, entitled 'Damn Fine Cup'. After getting a behind-the-scenes look into the efforts taken to produce the film, we get a brief glimpse into the dark psyche of the filmmaker and perhaps the intentions behind the film.

Within the exotic locale of Uzbekistan, the boys experience the usual "growing pains" as they fall in love, "borrow" the family car, work hard to earn extra money and have too much to drink. A funny, touching slice-of-life comedy-drama.

One day the landlord Smirnov demands the widow Popova to pay an old debt which her husband left. She has no money at home and begs Smirnov to wait. The polite conversation turns quickly into an argument. Popova fetches the pistols. Smirnov realizes now that he’s in love with Popova. He confesses his love.
