Maassen won two of the biggest comedy contests in the Netherlands in 1990, the Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival(GSCF), and Cameretten. The GSCF jury was not pleased with the quality of the contestants that year, and gave Maassen the first prize, remarking he was the best of the year, but still not very good. In the following years, however, Maassen fame grew steadily, especially amongst students. Maassens style was based on stand-up comedy: Alone on stage, telling jokes and stories to amuse the public, without any musical support (a thing common for most Dutch comedians up to that point). Since 2000, Maassens shows are shown on Dutch national television, making him more and more a household name.

Stage registration of the fourth comedy special (2006-2008) by the Dutch comedy troupe De Vliegende Panters (The Flying Panters). This show tells the story about who the Vliegende Panters really are.

Since 2016, Xander De Rycke has been touring annually with 'Houdt het voor bekeken' (#HHVB), a comedy special about the past year in television and film in Flanders. Previous editions of HHVB focused on the future of Flemish media. Where are we headed? How far ahead are we compared to the rest, and where do we stand head and shoulders above the rest? HHVB 2018·2019 takes a different direction. Increasingly, film and television are treating us to that 'remember when?' feeling. Franchises are being rebooted, old celebrities are being brought back, and we also have to keep an eye on VTM's 30th anniversary. Was everything better in the past? Is there still room for originality? Or do Flemish people prefer to be wrapped in a blanket of nostalgia? We will discover this together and, above all, have a lot of fun in the fourth season of 'Xander De Rycke houdt het voor bekeken' (Xander De Rycke calls it quits)..

TV recording of the hommage to the Dutch lyricist Jurrian van Dongen. Van Dongen wrote countless song lyrics for theater and television. He has been writing for the children's program Het Klokhuis for decades. He also writes for theater programs by Wende Snijders, Jenny Arean, Paul de Leeuw, Alex Klaasen and many others. In addition, he was a teacher at a cabaret academy for a new generation of lyricists.

Registration of the theater show 'I Amhali' by Najib Amhali. Najib itself is central to this spectacular show full of music. He knows better than anyone that happiness is in the small things. He is happily married and just the father of a second son. But do these great milestones in his life also make him more mature? Not according to his wife, because she is sometimes stuck with three children! The band PlusSupportAct provides the musical accompaniment during this performance.

In his first comedy special the Flemish comedian Pieter Verelst tells a bizarre story about his childhood, which he spent with his brother (existing or not) in a boring village in Flanders. Together they tackle this dullness and use it as a source of inspiration for a strange creativity.

Mind you is the fourth theater of the Dutch comedian Hans Teeuwen. He performed the show in 2001. The last show was filmed in 2002 and aired on television, the same year that the show on CD and DVD published. It's Teeuwen's most famous and most frequently quoted show. He takes everything on the heel, including racism, blacks, world religions, AIDS patients, women, Jostiband and the Queen of the Netherlands.

Xander De Rycke, still Belgium's youngest professional comedian and yet already a veteran, presents his greatest hits in 'Ten years on the road, two hours of fun'. Xander De Rycke is the court jester of a generation. His trilogy has come to an end, and the time is ripe to look back on 'Uw Zoete 666' (Your Sweet 666), 'Mijn Zwarte Parade' (My Black Parade), and 'Zijn Derde Show' (His Third Show). This 'best of' performance is a two-hour cocktail of his best jokes and even a few fun new ones!
