Alain Moreau sings for one of the few remaining dance-bands in Clermont-Ferrand. Though something of an idol amongst his female audience he has a melancholic awareness of the slow disappearance of that audience and of his advancing years. He is completely knocked off balance when he meets strikingly attractive and much younger businesswoman Marion. She seems distant and apparently otherwise involved but soon shows quiet signs of reciprocating his interest.

Their individual careers soared in the 1940s thru the 1970s. All of these women once hailed from San Antonio's Westside barrio. Time had almost forgotten them. And now that these "tesoros" or treasures have been rediscovered, these magnificent women are telling amazing stories. Las Tesoros de San Antonio - "A Westside Story". Examines the personal toll and legacy of four South Texas singers of yesteryear. Rita "La Calandria" Vidaurri, Blanquita Rodriguez "Blanca Rosa", Beatriz "La Paloma del Norte" Llamas, and Anita Janet Cortez "La Perla Tapatia" Through their stories and music the audience learns how these women began their careers in a male dominate industry to become successful singer/performers nationally and internationally. As well as their personal tragedies that lead to retirement and then to their present day musical resurgence.

The adventures of two amiably aimless metal-head friends, Wayne and Garth. From Wayne's basement, the pair broadcast a talk-show called "Wayne's World" on local public access television. A Reno singer witnesses a mob murder and the cops stash her in a nunnery to protect her from the mob's hitmen. Eventually the singer rescues the failing choir and begins helping with community projects, which gets her an interview on TV—and identification by the mob.

After the death of her father, Little Voice or LV becomes a virtual recluse, never going out and hardly ever saying a word. She just sits in her bedroom listening to her father's collection of old records of Shirley Bassey, Marilyn Monroe and various other famous female singers. But at night time, LV sings, imitating these great singers with surprising accuracy. One night she is overheard by one of her mother's boyfriends, who happens to be a talent agent. He manages to convince her that her talent is special and arranges for her to perform at the local night club, but several problems arise.

Working his way through a variety of cover versions and original material, Amongst the covers are Lou Reed's "Caroline Says," Scott Walker's "Jacky," and Jacques Brel's "The Devil (Okay)."

This documentary about legendary French chanteuse Edith Piaf begins at her birth (which was helped along by a cop), travels through her turbulent romantic history, follows her to the pinnacle of her success and reports on her death. Piaf was queen of the torch song, her plaintive wail speaking volumes of the tragedy and joy she'd faced. Hers wasn't exactly, in the words of one of her famous songs, "La Vie En Rose," but it was quite a life.
