Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage - Prior Chapter: Take Off

In the year 2220 A.D., the Earth Federation launches a plan to evacuate Earth when discovering that a travelling black hole capable of destroying anything in its path is on course towards the solar system. As the people on Earth prepare to relocate to planet Amare, whose ruler offers refuge, the tyrants known as the "S.U.S. Empire" attack the first Earth evacuation fleet. After learning that his wife Capt. Yuki Mori-Kodai disappeared in the battle and that legendary space battleship Yamato has been fully rebuilt, Susumu Kodai accepts command of the ship as he intends to not only help humanity once again, but also find Yuki in the hope of helping his relationship with his daughter Miyuki, who puts the blame on him for her mother's disappearance. But in order to fullfil the mission, the Yamato must go through battles against the SUS Empire, who intend to spoil humanity's hopes of finding a new place to live in and turn Earth into energy for their own selfish needs.

Sloan is a teenager who is passionate about racing cars. Doug, his dad, doesn't like the idea of his son becoming a race car driver. To avoid disappointing his father, Sloan hides his passion and focuses on what is expected of him: his studies and helping run the family business. He does have a crush on his classmate Angela. To impress her, he sneaks out and takes her on an adventure in his dad's ice cream van, during which they get into an accident and the van is badly damaged. Luckily, Angela escapes with only a few bruises, but Sloan ends up with a mild concussion and new ability to predict certain situations before they happen. Angela's Uncle Mitch is able to repair the van; he also teaches Sloan a thing or two about driving. They were once racing partners. Doug was the number one racer until he was set up by Scar, another driver who still runs his own race team. Sloan decides that he will do whatever it takes to win back a title that rightfully belongs to his family.

But, the students have different, competing ideas for the howliday, causing chaos. As he is about to pluck the fattest chicken in a coop filled with chickens, the fox is chased off by the barnyard guard dog, a none-too--bright dog to begin with, and he proceeds to get dimmer. The fox disguises himself as a real chicken (albeit, a real big chicken)and then convinces the dog he is a rightful member of the chick-clan and deserves to roost amongst them. But his costume if torn off revealing his true identity and the dog levels his shotgun at the fox. The fox manages to get the dog on the receiving end of the weapon, but one of the roosters kills them both so he can get some sleep.
