Heather Angel

Biography

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Heather Grace Angel was an English actress, the younger of two sisters, born to parents Andrea and Mary Letticia. She began her stage career at the Old Vic in 1926 and later appeared with touring companies. Her Broadway debut came in December 1937, in Love of Women, at the Golden Theatre. She also appeared in The Wookey (1941–42). Angel appeared in many British films. She made her first screen appearance in City of Song. She later had a leading role in Night in Montmartre, and followed this success with The Hound of the Baskervilles. She then decided to move to Hollywood, sailing on the Majestic to New York in December 1932 with her mother. Over the next few years, she played strong roles in such films as The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Three Musketeers, The Informer, and The Last of the Mohicans. In 1937, she made the first of five appearances as Phyllis Clavering in the popular Bulldog Drummond series. She was cast as Kitty Bennett in Pride and Prejudice and as maid, Ethel, in Suspicion. Angel was also the leading lady in the first screen version of Raymond Chandler's The High Window, released in 1942 as Time to Kill. She was one of the passengers of Alfred Hitchcock's Lifeboat. Her film appearances in the following years were few, but she returned to Hollywood to provide voices for the Walt Disney animated films Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. During 1964 and 1965, she played a continuing role in the television soap opera Peyton Place. After that role, she played Miss Faversham, a nanny and female friend of Sebastian Cabot's character of Giles French in the situation comedy Family Affair. Angel received a star, located at 6301 Hollywood Boulevard, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contributions to the film industry. Angel died from cancer in Santa Barbara, California, and was buried in Santa Barbara Cemetery. Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Sophie Marceau (French: [sɔfi maʁso]) born Sophie Danièle Sylvie Maupu, is a French actress, director, screenwriter, and author. As a teenager, Marceau achieved popularity with her debut films La Boum (1980) and La Boum 2 (1982), receiving a César Award for Most Promising Actress. In February 1980, Marceau and her mother came across a model agency looking for teenagers. Marceau had photos taken at the agency, but did not think anything would come of it. At the same time, Françoise Menidrey, the casting director for Claude Pinoteau's La Boum (1980), asked modelling agencies to recommend a new teenager for the project. After viewing the rushes, Alain Poiré, the director of the Gaumont Film Company, signed Marceau to a long-term contract. Robin Smith

Biography

Robin B. Smith is a South African former wrestling manager and actor. He is most famous for participating in the 2009 film Invictus. He was known in the WWF as the Commandant, who managed the South African Truth Commission for a short time in 1997. Born in South Africa, his film career started in 1987 in the film Scavengers. He appeared in many South African movies throughout the late 1980s to the 2000s. Wrestling career Smith became a manager in professional wrestling in early 1997. Bret Hart visited South Africa and met Smith. Hart recommended him for a role in the World Wrestling Federation, however he never fought as a wrestler. Smith made his wrestling debut in Tennessee in the US Wrestling Association (USWA). He wrestled under the name Commandant, and managed a group of wrestlers including "Interrogator", "Tank" and "Recon" as the "Truth and Reconciliation Commission". This tea won the USWA Tag Team Championship three times. In June 1997, the Truth Commission made their WWF debut. Smith made promos on WWF about the Truth Commission and attacking the United States for not having discipline. He was hated by the fans. "Sniper" replaced "Tank" on the commission. He was interviewed by Sunny, but scared her by yelling at her. During the summer of 1997 the group lost only to "Legion of Doom". In September, Smith was replaced by Don Callis, the "Jackyl"; the WWF wanted someone who could participate physically in the matches. Smith returned to South Africa, ending his wrestling career. Acting Smith appeared in 2006's The Fall, a film about Los Angeles based in the 1920s. In 2009 he played Johan De Villers in Invictus, about a South Africa rugby team fighting to win the 1995 Rugby World Cup. Personal As of 2011 he lived in South Africa, as a freelancer.

Robert N. Bradbury (March 23, 1886 – November 24, 1949) was an American film director and screenwriter who directed 125 movies between 1918 and 1941. He is most famous for directing early western films starring John Wayne in the 1930s, including Riders of Destiny (1933; an early singing cowboy movie), The Lucky Texan (1934), West of the Divide (1934), Blue Steel (1934), The Man From Utah (1934), The Star Packer (1934), The Trail Beyond (1934; co-starring Noah Beery, Sr. and Noah Beery, Jr.), The Lawless Frontier (1934), Texas Terror (1935), Rainbow Valley (1935), The Dawn Rider (1935), Westward Ho (1935), and Lawless Range (1935). These were inexpensively shot "Poverty Row" movies; many were also written by Bradbury and almost all of them featured character actor George "Gabby" Hayes. Geert Hunaerts (Mortsel, 24 July 1972) is a Belgian actor. Geert Hunaerts is best known for the Team Spirit films and series, and his roles in the TV shows De Kotmadam, Familie and Thuis. In 2006, Hunaerts participated in Stanley's Route, a survival program with well-known Flemish people; he won this program. He also took part in the second season of Steracteur Sterartiest, with which he collected money for Greenpeace. He was in sixth place. In 2009 he was a member of the Golden Plate Council in Warm regards to everyone. Hunaerts is married to Fien D'Heu, daughter of actor Luk D'Heu and together they have a daughter (2007) and a son (2009). Patrick Osborne

Biography

Osborne's directorial debut was the short film Feast (2014), about a Boston Terrier who loves getting fed junk food. The short was produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and premiered in front of Big Hero 6 (2014) in theaters. It won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2015. Osborne had previously worked as an animator on films such as Wreck-It Ralph (2012) and Bolt (2008). Osborne's next project will be a 360-degree animated short film for Google's Spotlight Stories currently titled Pearl, about the relationship between a father and his daughter. The short film will be a musical set entirely inside a car.

Georges Barboteu

Biography

Georges Yves Barboteu (1 April 1924 – 30 September 2006) was a French horn player and composer. He was the son of a horn teacher at the Conservatoire d'Alger, he himself started playing the horn at the age of nine, and won first prize at eleven. He joined the Algiers Radio Symphony Orchestra at the age of fourteen and then the Orchestre national de France in 1948. He entered the conservatoire de Paris in 1950, where he received the honorary prize that same year. In 1951 he won first prize in the Geneva International Music Competition. He was the main horn player of the Orchestre Lamoureux and from 1969 onwards of the Orchestre de Paris. He taught his instrument at the Conservatoire from 1969 to 1989. He left an important discography, recording many pages of chamber music and concertante music, from the 17th century to the contemporary era. Among his landmark recordings are Michael Haydn's horn concerto, Joseph Haydn's double horn concerto and Telemann's D concerto, all recorded with the Jean-François Paillard chamber orchestra. Worth mentioning is Weber's Concertino for Horn and Orchestra, which combines all the technical difficulties for the horn, recorded with Theodor Guschlbauer. Most of his recordings were made by the Erato Records label. Barboteu wrote horn study books, but also composed about forty pieces for horn alone or with other instruments that were often used in Conservatory examinations.
