Black Knight could have been promising but well, you know, "the message". Great sets, an interesting back story, decent characterisations but as per usual, woke messaging, this time about female empowerment and male inferiority. I managed one episode and part of the second, then walked away. Of course, in pushing "the message" the actual story starts to spiral downhill and get subsumed beneath tiresome layers of prickly preachiness. In summary, a great idea ruined by woke revisionism, yet again.

This is a well done series. The atmosphere, landscape and tone they set, it matches perfectly the apocalyptic times and despair of the people, who are divided according to social status and wealth. The "leaders", the wealthy, (this corporation running the world, basically) are unscrupulous and, unlike the present times, choose profit and power over people. The story is centered around one man, who rose above tragedy and gathered others around him, to fight a powerful enemy and try to protect the weak and helpless. The performances by legends such as Kim Eui-sung and Nam Kyung-eup are excellent, but Kim Woo-bin shines. His anger, mental strength & determination, you can feel it, as he portrays the 5-8 deliveryman... he can do more with just his eyes, than many actors can using their whole face and body. Esom's performance was solid. I liked the fighting scenes, I think they were quite well done. I think most of us can empathize with people living in a broken world, so you'll be able to watch every minute of the series and will not be bored. I tried to review without spoiling too much. But, I must say this: I will never, ever understand people reviewing something after watching it for 15 minutes or so. It takes them longer to log in and type their uninformed, silly opinion, than the time they actually took to watch. You must watch to review, look at the performances, the message, the whole story... and only then - review, recommend or don't. Who reviews based on half an episode? Speaking of this, the review I read about females and woke-something or other... honestly, no idea what that person is talking about. Not when it comes to this series. I have watched it and I recommend it. It will entertain you and make you think.

It was good, I think deserves 7/10 in my opinion. The only thing I didn't like and noticed that seems like Korean people like idolizing. For example in this TV show they're idolizing 5-8 (one of the main characters). He's like a god - no one beats him, he can kill everyone and no one is like him, basically he's a Chuck Norris, which sadly makes TV show unrealistic and is meant for kids who idolize Chuck Norris or Rambo and etc... And I noticed this trend in other Korean TV shows as well. Other than that, it was good.
