Izu no odoriko is a drama that first aired on TV Tokyo in two parts on June 14, 1993 and June 21, 1993.

Upon entering college, Narumi forms the Asunaro Group along with four other boys and girls. In time, she starts to date Tamotsu, whom she felt attracted to when she first saw him at the entrance exam. Although the two are happy together at first, their very different backgrounds cause them gradually to fall out and ultimately break up. Immediately following the break up, a member of the group dies a terrible death, and this brings the group to an end. Nemureru Mori is a drama that aired on Fuji TV. It first aired in Japan from 8 October 1998 to 24 December 1998. It is written by Nozawa Hisashi, starring Miho Nakayama and Takuya Kimura, and features music by Mariya Takeuchi and U2.

Dyesebel is a fantasy Philippine drama that aired on GMA Network. It is an adaptation of a famous graphic novel about a mermaid created by Mars Ravelo. The series premiered on April 28, 2008 and was expected to air for 25 weeks or 125 episodes, with Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes in the lead roles, and Joyce E. Bernal at the helm. The series ended on October 17, 2008. It was internationally aired on GMA Pinoy TV, which became a huge success to viewers abroad. Dyesebel is a popular mermaid character created by renowned graphic novelist Mars Ravelo. The story has been adapted into five films and a spin-off, throughout the timeline of 1953 to 1996. Edna Luna, Vilma Santos, Alma Moreno, Alice Dixson, and Charlene Gonzales had all played the lead role in the big screen, and all of them reached greater heights after playing the role. Ara Mina played a cameo role in this character in the television series Darna.

Palos is a Philippine primetime action and drama television series of ABS-CBN. The series debuted on January 28, 2008, as part of the network's Primetime Bida line-up. The series is loosely based on the classic Filipino comics and film character of the same name Palos, which means Eel in Tagalog. In the original comics, Palos was a professional thief who possessed acrobatic skills, and who was adept in the fighting arts.
