The series follows the lives and loves of three 30-something professionals in modern day Athens. A story of love and mystery

May 1895. Our story begins when the family of George Pavlides engages their 12-year-old son, Miltos, with the 9-year-old daughter of Michalis Nikolaidis, Ifigenia. The attacks of fanatical Turks will force the two families to flee their homeland. The two youngsters will meet again in Istanbul 11 years later. Unaware of the family relationship that binds them, they instantly fall in love. The two lovers try to live their love, while being dragged by the whirlwind of historical events of the time.

Every time a daughter was born, the father of Eleni, Asimina and Froso planted a poplar tree at the edge of their orchard to commemorate the arrival of the new child. As they grew and grew tall and slender, he boasted of them as his daughters. In the proudest poplar, however, Helen's poplar, a swarm of wild bees had already nested. The new drama series "An August Night", which is a continuation of "The Island" takes us back to the 50s. Spinalonga closes and a feast follows in the village. The healthy meet the newly cured and all together celebrate freedom from fear and disease. But everything freezes with the murder of a woman by her husband, when he learns that his best friend had a lover.
