Blue Thunder is a 1984 ABC television series based on the movie of the same title featuring the Blue Thunder helicopter. The series uses the converted Aérospatiale Gazelle helicopter and large portions of stock footage from the 1983 film. A ground unit named "Rolling Thunder" backed up the helicopter in the television series. This was a large support van with a desert camouflage off-road vehicle stored inside. The television series cast includes James Farentino, Dana Carvey, and former professional American football players Bubba Smith and Dick Butkus. The series was canceled by ABC after they felt the similar Airwolf on CBS would win the ratings battle. Also, the series aired at the same time as the CBS soap opera Dallas on Friday nights, and lost. Eleven episodes were made before the series was cancelled.

Whirlybirds is a syndicated American drama/adventure television series, which aired for 111 episodes — broadcast from February 4, 1957, through January 18, 1960. It was produced by Desilu Studios . The show centered around Chuck Martin (Kenneth Tobey) and Pete (P.T.) Moore (Craig Hill), owners of 'Whirlybirds, Inc', who flew their helicopter (N975B) between Longwood Field and anywhere where they could be of help to someone in trouble.

Chopper Squad is an Australian television series produced by the Reg Grundy Organisation for the 0-10 Network. The series was based around the work of a helicopter rescue team operating on Dee Why beach in Sydney. It has been said that the American series Baywatch was based upon Chopper Squad.

Undercover Princesses is a BBC Three reality TV show which took three royal claimants from foreign cultures and placed them in Ingatestone where they had to 'live and date' like normal people. The idea for the programme came from the 1988 Eddie Murphy film Coming to America. The contestants are Xenia Gabriela Florence Sophie Iris, Princess of Saxony and Duchess to Saxony, Germany, b. 1986; HRH Princess Sheillah Cinderella Nvannungi of Buganda, Uganda, b. 1982 although this claim by her is disputed; and HH Princess Aaliya Sultana Babi of Balasinor, India, b. 1974. The three women lived in a house together in Essex and the primary focus is on their search to find love in the UK whilst at the same time getting used to doing things for themselves. Only one of the princesses, Sheillah Cinderella Nvannungi, was able to find a long lasting relationship, with former Tobagan basketball player Paul David as her candidate.

Trawlermen is a BBC television documentary programme focusing on the work of a number of trawler crews based in Peterhead and Fraserburgh. The programme is narrated by the actors Ken Stott and Peter Capaldi. Four series and a special have been broadcast, totalling 20 episodes. The first series of 5 episodes was first broadcast in 2006 and was stripped across 7.00pm on weekdays. A further 5 episodes were first aired in 2007, 6 in 2008 and a fourth series of 3 episodes in 2009. A special was broadcast in 2010. The TV stations Blighty, Dave and Watch all repeat some episodes from the programme.

Goin' Country is a reality show, produced by Wes Whatley with Orion Multimedia, that began airing Sunday mornings at nine in August 2010 on the Versus channel. It follows former American Idol contestant Kristy Lee Cook and is centered around hunting and her search for a new recording contract. Eight episodes were shot for the first season. No new episodes have aired on NBC Sports Network.
