When a detective returns to his hometown to investigate a murder case, he uncovers shocking connections to the primary suspect and the weapon.

An aspiring writer deep in debt encounters a young man with no memories and strange abilities. Together they fight injustice and form an unlikely bond.

Kuwazuru Mitsuki is a second year student at Arakawa Nishi High School. One day, her homeroom teacher, Tachibana, suddenly announces the start of the "Letter Game", where every student has to write a letter with his/her true feelings to each of the classmates. However, the "letter" will not include the sender's name. At first, there were a lot of bad jokes and silly "letters", but they slowly accelerate to revealing secrets and confessions, which make everyone question, "Who is the sender?" and "Who will be named next?" This game allows the students to become more aware of each other's hidden worries and thoughts, which slowly deepens the bond among the classmates. Meanwhile, Mitsuki tries to search for the sender of the letter sent to her and she discovers a secret hidden in this "letter game".

An incident is talked about all over Japan. The case involves the Doizaki couple that killed their 15-year-old daughter and hid her body under their house for 16 years. One day, housewife Toshiko Hagitani visits Shigeko Maehata who works for a small editing company. Toshiko tells Shigeko that her 12-year-old son Hitoshi might have a special ability to see other people's memories. She pulls out a picture drawn by Hitoshi. The picture has a girl with a grey colored face lying in a house that has a bat shaped weather vane on its roof. The picture seems to depict the incident involving the Doizaki couple. Shigeko decides to do some research, but Hitoshi dies in a car accident. Meanwhile, the attorney for the Doizaki couple tells their second daughter Seiko that the couple has cut off all ties with her. Around that time, a female high student is confined.

When 200-year-old human remains discovered in the Himalayas are identified as a perfect DNA match to a missing woman, a complex mystery involving suspicious deaths, lost memories, and hidden truths begins to unfold.

At a university football team reunion, former team manager Mitsuki Hiura confesses that she killed a person to quarterback Tetsuro Nishiwaki. She also reveals that as a result of a gender identity disorder, she is now living as a man. Tetsuro and his friends were puzzled by the events leading to her behaviour. They try to protect their old friend as they gradually discover the truth.

In a mysterious shop that sells lamps, the dead may return to the world of the living, while the living may not walk out alive.

Cha Woo Kyung is a child counselor who works at a children’s center. Her life seems perfect since he is married to a great husband and is pregnant. However, her perfect life doesn't last long, when an accident changes her life. She then meets Kang Ji Hun, a detective who is hurt for hiding his troubling past but is strict toward criminals and believes they should be punished to the full extent.

Nobuto Natsume worked at a youth detention center, but began working as a detective after the age of forty. He begins his new career as a detective in the violent crimes section at Higashi-Ikebukuro Police Station. He listens carefully to those involved in cases and investigates thoroughly to uncover the truth. Veteran Detective Seiichi Fukumori works as Nobuto Natsume's partner. The crimes they investigate usually relate to families. ~~ Based on the novel "Keiji no Manazashi" by Gaku Yakumaru.

Rei Mikoshiba, a lawyer who will do anything to win. Yoko Kusakabe, the clerk who was introduced through Hello Work without knowing about that office and got a job there.

Kensaku Kamimura is an archeologist. He makes a discovery that overturns history. Kensaku's discovery proves humans existed in Japan at a time where it was previously thought they did not. The small village of Shiona, where Kensaku made his discovery, also feels an influx of new people coming to the area. Kensaku's discovery is to be written into textbooks with the help of editor Rina Sakuma. Rina becomes attracted to Kensaku as they spend time together. Meanwhile, the bone of a female student is discovered at an excavation site where Kensaku works. The female student went missing 13 years ago. Detective Taichi Yukinaga, who worked on the case back then, resumes his investigation. A scholar visits Rina and tells her that Kensaku's discovery has been manipulated.

Private forensic researcher Nagareda Enishi (Katori Shingo) is usually very sluggish as well as sloppy, and always aloof. However, his entire demeanour changes once he is at a scene and his skills as a forensic researcher are topnotch. He stands up for the disadvantaged by using science and technology to uncover conclusive evidence and solve trivial civil cases which the police will not handle such as adultery, molest and stalking. Enishi used to be a member of the Research Institute of Forensic Science and was called an ace, but he now belongs to Chiyoda Forensic Science Institute due to some incident.

The story centers on Keitarou Gentouga, who has the ability to be a spirit medium. In junior high school, he got someone else wrapped up in a spirit possession incident, and he has been a shut-in for more than two years. As he reintroduces himself to society as a private tutor, he meets a genius girl named Yayoi Houzuki. Yayoi is instantly able to tell that Keitarou has skill as a spirit medium, and she invites him to go with her to a haunted location. The two then start their journey capturing evil spirits.

Kazuo (Otoo Takuma), a young man who has been in love with an anime character for 21 years, finally succeeds in getting a date with Arisa (Takahashi Mai), a girl he sees at a game arcade who looks exactly like the character. But then a mysterious boy named Yuji (Kamiki Ryunosuke) shows up and follows Kazuo home.

Sono believes the maintenance of trust held by the general public for the police could be jeopardized if anything afoul is discovered in the case stemming from the police. Sono wants to coverup the case as unsolved if the police are involved.
