No medicine can control this epilepsy except for special cannabis oil, which she receives as part of a clinical study and prevents her from brain damage (in the role of researcher: Alma Dishi). A frightening event in the premiere episode leads to the termination of the research, and the cannabis strain in question is confiscated and sent to be destroyed in a truck. This truck, and what is waiting for it, are the key to the continuation of the affair.

Other characters include a priest who is a sexual deviant, and a trio of corrupt cardinals who secretly run Popetown and attempt to get rich behind the Pope's back. These and other elements caused the show to be extremely controversial.
