Defenders of the Earth is an American animated television series produced in 1986, featuring characters from three comic strips distributed by King Features Syndicate—Flash Gordon, The Phantom, and Mandrake the Magician—opposing Ming the Merciless in the year 2015. Beast Wars II refers to the 1998 Japanese Transformers television animated series, and the movie and toyline that resulted from it. The series was preceded by Beast Wars, and was followed by Beast Wars Neo. The series has a much lighter tone and is aimed more towards children, whereas the more accessible Beast Wars was intended for a wider age range. The series also uses conventional animation rather than CGI like Beast Wars: Transformers. Juukou B-Fighter is a 1995 Japanese tokusatsu television series. B-Fighter is short for "Beetle Fighter". It was part of Toei's ongoing Metal Hero Series. It dealt with three members of the prestigious Earth Academia fighting against the evil forces of the otherworldly Jamahl Empire. The action footage and props were later used for Big Bad Beetleborgs.
