**The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses** _(Kizetsu Yuusha to Ansatsu Hime)_ is a japanese animation about a super strong naive guy the size of an American line-backer or Rugby fullback, named Toto. He wants to be a hero, _the_ hero who rids the world of the demon king because the demon king's minions wiped out his when Toto was a child. And though Toto doesn't see his potential to accomplish his vengence, his adversaries do. Some see him as the threat and challenge he poses, while others see him as competition for the riches and fame to those who defeat the demon king. Toto's enemies hire assassins to work toward putting an end to Toto before he can truly begin. And this seems like a relatively easy thing to do as Toto has one glaring weakness: women. The young hero passes out whenever he receives a soft touch from a woman.
Enter the mercenary, the posioner, and the princess. Anemone is a foul-mouth, boozing, smoking merc who has a penchant for using guns & knives but has a soft spot for children in bad situations. She has no interest in killing Toto because she has to go undercover. She can't be suspected of being hired to do it since Toto is unafiliated to a kingdom or guild. Anemone refuses to do it until the price is right. Now she is a thug that must pretend to be a preistess...one that doesn't smoke or drink; so the sooner she can kill Toto the better. Next, is Ceil Zebul, daughter of the demon king. In order to earn the respect of her peers who look down on her because Ceil's magical talent doesn't come naturally and gain sucession to the throne as the demon king's heir, Ceil has to also go undercover to get next to Toto. She poses as a struggling magician eager to find her way in the world. But she, unlike Anemone, is not hired but tasked by her father to kill his would-be hero slayer. If she can do that then her place as the Demon King's successor is assured. And lastly, is Goa Minagawa, a seducer & poisoner that has been trading in on her looks as soon as she discovered she had power over men. She believes there isn't a man alive who can resist her or her particular brand of persuasion through drug injection. She can get men to empty their coin purses or divulge information or she can assassinate them by all three means. It to comes Goa that there is a such a man who is pious enough, virtue enough, and of impeccible moral characer that not even she can derail him from his purpose. With a reputaion to uphold Goa sets out to see the task through and find out if this man is as stalwart as she has been told.
Hijinks ensue when the three women clash with one another as they meet the hero. They soon work out a Theives' Truce and agree to let each have a turn with no interference from the other two at ending the hero's existence; whomever is successful wins. This proves difficult as the women spend time with Toto. He helps each of them begin to change their view of him and themselves. As a result the women soften their own convictions and begin to actually like travelling together. Soon the question beocomes can any of them get what they want from the journey before the hero has to face the demon king???
