American Gladiators is an American competition TV show that aired on NBC and Citytv in Canada. Bromance is an American reality series that aired on MTV. It premiered on December 29, 2008. A spin-off of the MTV series The Hills, the show follows Brody Jenner as he searched to find a new best friend after his fall-out with longtime best friend Spencer Pratt. Nine men competed in challenges in an attempt to win a "bromance", or close male friendship, with Jenner. On February 2, 2009, it was revealed on air that Jenner had chosen Luke Verge as his new best friend. Along with Jenner's friendship and a spot in his entourage, Verge won a one year, rent-free stay in a fully furnished penthouse in downtown Los Angeles and a new Scion.

It was created by executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Fuller, co-producers of So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol. On May 19, 2009, it was announced that NBC would not be ordering a second season of the show.

In the new program, twelve well-known Dutch people embark on an adventure in a breathtaking location on the Mediterranean Sea. And the participants are better off leaving it closed, because, just like in the myth, opening it has ominous consequences. The game revolves not only around Pandora, but also features other Greek mythical figures. The challenges during the episodes are inspired by Sisyphus, and exciting encounters with Medusa's gaze take place. Each episode culminates in a confrontation with two cursed players fighting for survival, while competing against each other in a duel to avoid elimination. This means new relationships, alliances, and above all, unpredictability every week.

In each of the six hour-long episodes, four bakers, along with their assistants, must bake non-stop in 3 rounds for 2 hours each. They first must complete creative cookies, next is decadent cupcakes and, finally, a showpiece cake; all from scratch and inspired by a surprise theme. As each round nears the two hour mark, Buddy and two rotating expert judges visit each baker’s station to taste and critique their sweets. With time still running and the bakers continuing to work, the judges determine the baker’s item on the bottom of the batch and send them home; until the last round when a winner is declared from the 2 remaining bakers. It’s a battle against the clock and the winning baker gets to finally relax on a dream vacation of their choice!

I'd Do Anything was a 2008 talent show-themed television series produced by the BBC in the United Kingdom and broadcast on BBC One. It premièred on 15 March 2008. The show searched for a new, unknown lead to play Nancy and three young performers who will take it in turns to play Oliver in a West End revival of the British musical Oliver!. The show, named after the song "I'd Do Anything", was hosted by Graham Norton with Andrew Lloyd Webber again overseeing the programme, together with theatrical producer Cameron Mackintosh. In January 2008, John Barrowman confirmed he would be taking part in the show. The BBC also confirmed in late February 2008 that Barry Humphries would join Barrowman and Denise Van Outen on the judging panel of the show. Auditions for the show began in January 2008, with the show airing on BBC One throughout March, April and May 2008. In the final, on 31 May, Jodie Prenger was announced as the winner of the series.

The One and Only was an entertainment talent contest made by the BBC. It was broadcast on BBC One and hosted by Graham Norton. The aim of the show was to find a musical tribute act to perform in a three-month stint in Las Vegas. Each week throughout January and February 2008 one of their number was lost after a public vote, and the other acts then chose who should go through based on their second performance. The Judges were David Grant and Carrie Grant. The show was won on 16 February 2008 by Katy Setterfield as Dusty Springfield.
