The Oblongs are not so much dysfunctional as slightly nonfunctional. Living next to a polluted swamp has left them with the occasional missing limb or mysterious growth, but through it all, this close-knit family sticks together.Sometimes literally.

Following the May 1968 civil unrest in France, a deaf-mute and a con artist simultaneously stumble upon the remnants of a secret society.

The story revolves around Yeung Chung-tak, who has dedicated twenty years of his life to the household electronics division of the family business, Yip Fook Trading. Unfortunately, as the business evolves, he realizes that his position as vice-manager is the furthest he can go, as outsiders cannot become part of the family business. Still, Chung-tak is content with his life, as his true focus has always been on his family. Chung-tak's happy marriage to his wife, Wong Oi-lin, is challenged when a switch of apartments and changes in the company bring unexpected crises into their lives. They have two daughters, and together, they strive to overcome the challenges and rescue their peaceful life. The story explores how Chung-tak confronts these trials and their outcome.

Yuen Biao is a former Hong Kong officer. He quit after an "accident" occured where he kills an innocent teenager. He felt guilty and decided to train with monks to feel better. After 5 years, he joins the force again after an encounter with the supernatural at a performance. He realizes that he has no other choice but to help out with his visions, which are very accurate. When Yuen Biao meets up with his former friend, who is Gigi's dad, he is offered to live in an apartment next to them. There he meets Moses Chan, the man who got kicked out of where Yuen Biao would be living. Little does Yuen Biao know is that Moses is actually an undercover officer who's spying on the triads. Yuen Biao gradually learns the truth about Moses and they become good friends. They tackle on many strange cases along with Yoyo Mung, who became a lawyer after being a head officer/investigator.

An unconscious man is washed ashore on the beach of a small French village during a heavy storm. A retired doctor takes care of the unconscious stranger. When the mysterious man recovers, he can't remember a thing...he does not know his name, he does not know where his flashback memories come from, and he does not know why the access code for an anonymous Swiss bank account is implanted in his thigh. As he seeks his own identity, things quickly become dangerous. Ryu is brought back to life by Jody Summer and Dr. Stewart, who work with a group of good racers who try to keep prize money out of the hands of unsavory people like the Dark Million Organization run by Black Shadow and Deathborn, including a revived Zoda.

During the Sengoku period, there are many factions constantly at war. One of these is led by a one-eyed man named Date Masamune and another by the imposing Takeda Shingen. The latter has a fiercely loyal subordinate named Sanada Yukimura who goes head to head against Date Masamune multiple times, but the battles between them tend to get interrupted. One such battle occurs when both men try to go after another leader named Imagawa, and they’re forced to break off their heated duel when Imagawa attempts to flee the scene with his body doubles. Yukimura and Masamune go after separate Imagawas, but all of the doubles are killed by a third party, and when their paths cross again, they are in front of the menacing Oda Nobunaga and his army. It was Nobunaga’s subordinates that killed those body doubles, and Nobunaga himself proceeds to kill the real Imagawa with a shotgun blast to the head.

After HuiSan dies, Kat is told to stay in Hong Kong to take over the family business as HuiSan's heir. Kat is hesitant because her family in Thailand is anticipating her return.

They create two octopuses out of the blue and green material and take them home to Prague, soon discovering that their new pets attract electricity and other disasters.
