The Replacement

The Storm is a 2009 American science fiction disaster miniseries directed by Bradford May. Based on a previous teleplay by Matthew Chernov and David Rosiak, it was written by David Abramowitz and Dennis A. Pratt and revolves around a weather creation system developed by the Atmospheric Research Institute that threatens life on Earth when deployed by the military. However, while scientist Dr. Jonathan Kirk, Danni Wilson, and detectives Devon Williams and Stilman attempt to save the world, the former is hunted by hitmen. The first part of the film was broadcast on the NBC network July 26, 2009. The second part was broadcast on August 2, 2009.

Bisaat is a mystery thriller, that revolves around a psychiatrist, Kiyana Verma, who has a habit of getting involved in her patient's life. Kiyana Verma is a young, beautiful woman, who runs a flourishing psychiatric practice in Mumbai, she is married to a talented doctor Abhijit. Kiyana’s biggest problem is that she gets overly emotional about her patients and tries to help them out in her own way which creates more problems in an already cold marriage. Abhijit and Kiyana are perfectly playing the part of an ideal couple but without warmth and love because of a bitter past. Kiyana’s habit of over-involvement in her patient’s life creates more tension in her personal life.

Based on real characters and events, this haunting drama focuses on the personal sacrifice of a Prague history student, Jan Palach, who set himself on fire in protest against the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1969. Dagmar Burešová, a young female lawyer, became part of his legacy by defending Jan's family in a trial against the communist government, a regime which tried to dishonour Palach’s sacrifice, a heroic action for the freedom of Czechoslovakia.

Since starting out more than a decade ago, painter Yiu Sheung-him has not much luck until gallery boss Fong Chi-ho and his wife Sung Wai-kei discover an old painting created by Sheung-him 18 years ago. And the couple decide to help him become famous, but Sheung-him is simply not in the mood to feel happy. A moment of vanity causes Sheung-him to forgo his principles which he has been steadfastly following. Sheung-him is also consigned to oblivion because of fame and fortune. Shum Yuet, who used to be Sheung-him’s favorite disciple, again hooks up with Sheung-him due to certain vested interests. A mysterious homicide then takes place, and the victim astonishingly turns out to be Sheung-him’s wife Chong Yui-ting. If it’s not one thing, it’s another as scenes of intrigue and deceit play out.
