Reviews
A story about a gated community. Oh yes, such things are so common in the UK, aren't they? The story itself isn't so bad. Far-fetched, but that's what one expects from a TV drama. No, the real problem is the appalling acting. Every actor in this show is truly terrible. It's not that the acting is wooden. I could've coped with that. If you've seen the Spinal Tap movie you'll remember they wrote a musical about Jack the Ripper: Saucy Jack. Well this dross is about as close to Saucy Jack as it's possible to get. The acting reaches its nadir with cockney barrow boy knees up dahn the Old Kent Road character "Jojo". Who the hell is seriously called Jojo? This show was the acting equivalent of nails on a blackboard. Highly unpleasant.
Summary:
When one of Tom Delaney's daughters goes missing, he does everything possible to find her. Along the way, he uncovers some dark secrets from not only his dead wife's past, but from his closest friends. The plot has a lot of twists and hints that leave you wanting more after each episode.
Personal Opinion:
I will admit that this show caught my attention when I saw Michael C. Hall was involved. (Any Dexter fans out there?) Not only does he play a main character, but he was also an executive producer.
The show takes place in a gated community with many of the residents involved in it's dark secrets. I thought the pacing was good and there were some twists I didn't see coming. The ending summed things up nicely but it seems unlikely there will be a season two.
It really is a binge worthy season and you'll never guess who the killer is at the end!
