Ratched is an American psychological thriller television series based on the novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey, developed by Evan Romansky for the Netflix platform.
For screenwriter Evan Romansky, it was almost the first major work in his career, and popular TV producer Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story, Scream Queens, 9-1-1, The Politician), has long wanted to bypass Michael Douglas, who owns the rights to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and the character Ratched. Douglas produced the original film, for which he received his first Oscar. The series was supposed to be a prequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and show the events that made Mildred Ratched the monster she became in the book.
The title role, nurse Mildred Ratched, was played by the talented actress Sarah Paulson. For her sake alone, this series must be watched; even though she got an antihero role, the viewers fall in love with her from the first seconds. She is beautiful, domineering, and her incredible looks worth a lot in this series.
Ratched tells about the world recovering from the horrors of World War II. A young girl named Mildred moves to Northern California to find work in the medical field. Soon she manages to get a job in a leading psychiatric hospital, where unusual experiments are carried out. With her appearance, supposedly random accidents begin to occur. For the sake of her career, Mildred is ready to step on people.
Bright, incredibly beautiful with expensive interiors and costumes, ostentatious, selfish, vibrating with tension and, of course, bloody - all this is about the new Ratched series.
