Common As Muck is a gritty BBC comedy drama serial focusing on the lives of a crew of bin men and their management staff. It ran for two series. The first series was screened in 1994 and the second in 1997. Both were nominated for a BAFTA for Best Drama.

In 2021, Lin Beixing, approaching 30, works at a zoo in an animal suit and eagerly anticipates marrying Zhan Yu, whom she has loved since high school. Just before their wedding, he abruptly cancels, claiming he never loved her, prompting her to attempt various stunts to win him back.
