The show is a spin-off of the format Alessandro Borghese - 4 Ristoranti, where hotels, rather than restaurants, compete against each other. These hotels belong to the same commercial category and are located in the same geographical area. Each of the four hotel owners takes turns hosting the other three colleagues and Barbieri for a day and a night at their establishment. The hoteliers rate the location, services, rooms, prices, and, starting from the fourth season, the quality of the breakfast, giving scores from 0 to 10.

My Kitchen Rules is an Australian competitive cooking game show broadcast on the Seven Network since 2010. The series is produced by the team who created the Seven reality show My Restaurant Rules, and was put into production based on the success of Network Ten's MasterChef Australia. My Kitchen Rules has just been renewed by the Seven Network for a fifth series.

Yo Momma is a American reality television game show based upon the black urban culture of insulting another's mother. Iron Chef is a Japanese television cooking show produced by Fuji Television. The series, which premiered on October 10, 1993, is a stylized cook-off featuring guest chefs challenging one of the show's resident "Iron Chefs" in a timed cooking battle built around a specific theme ingredient. The series ended on September 24, 1999, although occasional specials were produced until 2002. The series aired 309 episodes. Repeats are regularly aired on the Cooking Channel in the United States and on Special Broadcasting Service in Australia. Fuji TV will air a new version of the show, titled Iron Chef, beginning in October 26, 2012.

Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants is an eight-episode competition that featured multiple mother-daughter teams working together as pairs to win a beauty pageant competition. The show ran for eight episodes on The CW from December 12, 2007 to January 30, 2008. The competition was judged by Carson Kressley, Shanna Moakler and television personality Cynthia Garrett. Each pair attempted to brand a 'style' for their mother/daughter team via clothing and swimwear, create ways of expressing a point of view about issues in the world, and practice for the big pageant dance number. The prize package included a $100,000 cash award, a custom-designed platinum and diamond crown necklace, and tiaras. The show was a production of Swim Entertainment and Fox Television Studios, with creator/executive producer Laurie Girion. On May 13, 2008, The CW officially cancelled the series. The show averaged 1.79 for its sole season. Pageant Director-Linnea Maloney Linnea Mancini Maloney won the Miss New York USA 1988 title and went on to compete in the Miss USA 1988 pageant. She played in all Episodes 1-8 as the Pageant Director of Crowned, The Mother of all Pageants.

Strong features 20 contestants, which include 10 male trainers and 10 female trainees. The trainers work on helping their trainees improve their physical fitness, not only through losing weight but also through achieving a balance between mind and body, and getting into shape both physically and mentally. After a series of challenges, two teams will face each other in a physical competition in the Elimination Tower, with the losing team being eliminated from the series. The winning team will receive a cash prize of up to $500,000, depending on their overall performance in the show.

Competitors are given elaborate masks to wear in order to conceal their identity, thus removing factors such as popularity, career and age that could lead to prejudiced voting. In the first round, a pair of competitors sing the same song, while in the second and third rounds they each sing a solo song. After the First Generation, the winner of the Third Round goes on to challenge the Mask King, and is either eliminated or replaces the previous Mask King through live voting. The identities of the singers are not revealed unless they have been eliminated.
