In Srisaket, coach Man is the leader and caretaker of the Maitree Gospel Church, taking over after his parents passed away. Aside from his role as a leader in the church, coach Man is also a physical education teacher at the local high school and founded a water polo club at the school, which is made up entirely of Christians. The club members include Sawan, Champ, Touch, Poo, Yot, Petch, Kob, Me, Tao, Kem, Sun, and new member Lert. Also Cha, an alumni of the school, assists in coaching and helping out at the church.

Eiichirō Maruo (nicknamed "Ei-chan" for his grades being straight "A") is an honor student, bookworm, and is not interested in anything other than studying. The series starred Cherie Lunghi as Gabrielle Benson and Warren Clarke as the chairman of the second division club. It was independently produced for Channel 4 by Glenn Wilhide and Sophie Belhetchet at their production company, ZED Ltd. The series aired for two series of six episodes on Channel 4 in 1989 and 1990.

These frequent waking dream sequences give the show a somewhat surreal atmosphere.
