The romance of vampire legends has traveled about for hundreds of years, and in 1987 Star Troupe performed this production with Shion Yuu in the pivotal role. This very popular show was a unique theme for Takarazuka-- the first act is on classical and aesthetic beauty, and the second act is a more modern pop style of Count Dracula's love.

The tale's theme is basically "revenge", but lurking behind that is the frank love of a man and a woman, parent-child passions, and a futile adolescence passing by.
