A mysterious hero trapped in an Asylum decides to 'save' the unknown residents from the evil psychiatrist, Dr. Dog.

The series, based on the first 16mm film that was shot in a studio with Nakajima’s family and birds, moves through media and processing transformations over many iterations over the years. Once transferred to video, digital effects were added using the “Animaker,” an electronic image synthesizer that he invented (also nicknamed “Ko-puter”). Total of 6 parts exist.

As the ‘flow’ progresses, the world where our ‘giant’ once stood gradually fades away, replaced by their inner worlds. Our ‘giant’ continues to advance endlessly, questioning the relationship between the world and oneself.

Pelin Kırca is a multidisciplinary artist, whose work The Crowd was shown at Galeri Nev in Istanbul in March 2023. “The Crowd” is also the title of a work from 1971 by the avant-garde composer İlhan Mimaroğlu, who died in 2012. He is also featured in one scene, simply standing there holding a closed umbrella and wearing a top hat while it’s raining in the concert hall and a swan sitting on a grand piano tries to take off.
