After thief Alex Cardo gets caught while stealing an ancient katana in East Asia, he soon finds himself imprisoned and beaten up by the crowd there. One of the guards, Demon, feels upset by Alex appearance and tortures him as often as he gets the opportunity. Alex finds a friend and mentor in the jailhouse, Master Sun, who teaches him a superior fighting style called Iron Hand. When a 'best of the best kumite' is to take place, Demon gets an invitation. Now Master Sun and Alex need to find a way to let Alex take part in the kumite too.

Also featured on the card was a rematch between former WEC Featherweight Champion Urijah Faber and Jens Pulver.

WEC 34: Faber vs. Pulver was a mixed martial arts event held by World Extreme Cagefighting that took place on June 1, 2008 at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California. The main event, announced on WEC 33, was a bout between Jens Pulver and Urijah Faber for WEC Featherweight Championship. WEC 34 was aired live on Versus.

However, while the event was in progress, Lewis was forced to withdraw due to non-COVID, non-weight cutting illness and the bout was cancelled. As a result, Kennedy Nzechukwu and Ion Cuțelaba instead headlined the event. A heavyweight bout between Tai Tuivasa and Marcin Tybura was scheduled for UFC 298 but the bout was moved in order to headline this event.

UFC on ESPN 53: Ribas vs. Namajunas was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that will took place on March 23, 2024, at UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada, United States. A women's flyweight bout between Amanda Ribas and former two-time UFC Women's Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas headlined the event.

Strikeforce / M-1 Global - Fedor vs. Rogers was a mixed martial arts event held on November 7, 2009. It was the first MMA event on network television since the now-defunct EliteXC promotion broadcast its final event, EliteXC: Heat, on CBS on October 4, 2008.
