Young lawyer Mia Stocker takes up her first job at her father's renowned law firm. Her first case seems to be routine: An elderly gentleman dies in a nursing home due to incorrect medication. But this is actually just the beginning of a major scandal.

When Albert Stockwell comes home from work one day he finds a note from his wife of 15 years, Nancy, saying she has gone to see friends. After waiting several days, Albert realizes that his wife is missing. Nancy has met her salvation on the Internet in the form of Louis Farley.
