In the city of San José del Rincón, Argentina, a makeshift garbage dump was established 20 years ago and quickly grew. People with limited resources also settled there, trying to make it their new home. Today, nine families live there, having formed a cooperative to manage the dump. However, media attention, the municipality, and ongoing internal disputes make their lives difficult, further complicating access to the garbage.
