"Hip Hop Symphonique" features French rap's greatest hits, arranged and performed live with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. Hip-hop is quick to use codes to its advantage, and has found its own tempo thanks to concerts given with the complicity of Mouv'. The fifth edition features Lous And The Yakuza, Maes, Meryl, Passi and Soolking.

The 6th edition of Hip Hop Symphonique with Dinos, Benjamin Epps, Doria, Laeti, MC Solaar, Selah Sue at the Radio France auditorium under the artistic direction of Issam Krimi and the orchestral direction of Dylan Corlay. The concert features songs by Erremsi, Elodia, Douboukan and Vinz Slam.

Never before has Hip Hop Symphonique offered such an extensive program: no less than 14 rappers and the musicians of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and 10 musicians from the live band The Ice Kream perform on the Auditorium stage in front of an audience of 1,200. This new edition features a unique artistic encounter between the beatbox group Berywam, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and The Ice Kream, the presence of dancers, a prima ballerina, a gospel choir and the exceptional participation of Jean-Pascal Zadi.

Guillermo Gómez Álvarez explores the identity politics of Puerto Rico via archival footage from various sources that clash with nine original songs from local independent musicians and a thematic analysis from a psychoanalyst and a historian. From the juxtaposition the absurd becomes coherent and the coherent becomes absurd as Puerto Rican identity is defined and rejected almost simultaneously.

Dania is 21 years old and grew up in a Christian community in the Faroe Islands’ Bible belt. She has just moved to Tórshavn and is seeing Trygvi, a hip-hop artist and poet locally known as Silvurdrongur (Silver Kid). He comes from a secular family and writes poems and texts about the shadow sides of humanity. Dania herself sings in a Christian band but is fascinated by Trygvi’s courage to write brutally honest lyrics. As she tries to find her place in the world and understand herself, she starts to write more personal texts. Her writings develop into a collection of critical poems called ‘Skál’ (‘Cheers’), about the double life that she and other youths must live in the conservative Christian world.

Honey Daniels dreams of making a name for herself as a hip-hop choreographer. Margaret Walker’s poem For My People is performed alongside scenes of daily Black life in New York City — children playing, families on stoops, open fire hydrants, and the realities of poverty in 1970s neighborhoods. James Baldwin appears in interview footage, while signs for his play The Amen Corner and stage excerpts from Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun underscore the powerful presence of Black voices in American theater. With rare shots of Harlem life, literature, and performance, this film documents the enduring contributions of African American artists to U.S. culture and history.
