Inspired by games with their toy aircraft from childhood, a group of rather green but enthusiastic young men arrive at a training facility for the Royal Swedish Air Force. Over the next quarter of an hour, or so, we follow the processes that will turn them from keen amateurs to fighting men capable of piloting their kingdom's first line of airborne defence. There's a sparing narration to keep it moving, but for the most part the images speak for themselves as they study, relax, train and then leave with their stripes. We don't focus on any one individual particularly, just watch the team take to the air where we are offered some grainy footage of solo and formation aircraft (including the Saab 91 Sapphire) whizzing over their base. It's fun if you like old aircraft but really only serves as a recruitment film for flyers. Watchable, though.
