Kintsugi

Kintsugi (金継) is a Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold. The breaks and repairs are thus made visible, displayed rather than hidden. Human relationships aren't like pottery; perhaps they're more complex than simply repairing a plate. However, there's a certain parallel between our reunion and this ancient technique. Undoubtedly, there are wounds that were exposed by the distance that separated us for over a month. This isn't something to be ignored or hidden. However, that doesn't mean these emotional wounds can't be repaired. On the contrary, they become the foundation upon which we can build a strong bond.
