The Breakdown on Shakedown

The documentary follows a crew of snowboarders for six weeks in the Chugach mountains, and showcases what it takes to ride these unique Alaskan mountains: the waiting, the stress, the dangers, everything that goes into it and is usually never shown. It also retraces some of the history of this unknown discipline and pays tribute to the pioneers. But the film really focuses on the human aspect and why these people do what they do.

In the early 2000's, David Vladyka and a handful of snowboarders discovered the Col de Cou, a major crossing point on the French-Swiss border used by smugglers after the Second World War. This area with its hilly terrain became a legendary place for freestyle snowboarding. 20 years later, Mat Schaer and David Vladyka still come back from time to time to film, but the immaculate slopes are becoming rare. The excitement of the great freestyle years has given way to the hikers. A new page is being turned.

A bush pilot drops the small crew of five on a remote, unexplored glacier to conquer the spine walls in a series of ascents, each one more committed. Narrator Jérôme Tanon describes with honesty and a touch of sarcasm what exactly is going on here. Above all, he wants to feel what it’s like to be in their shoes, to understand what so called “free riders” are made of, and what could be the purpose and beauty of “freeriding”.

Think Thank's most mind numbing, heart stopping freestyle snowboard video ever! Brain Dead Heart Attack marked a decade of snowboard videos for Think Thank, which was always one of the goals when it started. The concept was that the Brain Dead side would feature the dudes who have been around awhile at least in Think Thank videos, some of whom were quite literally brain dead. Heart Attack side would be the launch pad precursor for the new faces who would go on to film for Think Thank Almanac. We were moving out of the brain and into the heart; the heart of a new era of Think Thank, a crew of friends snowboarding together and filming each other, much like how it started 10 years ago.

Of The Mountains sees three snowboarders of unique and uncommon backgrounds come together for a lifetime trip to the iconic backcountry of Hokkaido, Japan. It is a story of mentorship, unlimited possibility, and the transformative power of perfect powder.

IN SHORT is Blank Paper Studio´s current project released in the Fall of 2007. This 16mm/ Super 16mm DVD production follows a truly conceptual approach containing 5 different short films on one DVD, mixing formats, genres, personalities and directors. The last of Robot Food's trio of snowboarding movies, following their previous releases "Lame" and "Afterbang". Afterlame attempts to break away from the traditional snowboard highlight flick and showcase the fun and creative side of the sport, while detailing how it brings a group of friends together.

“Jibbing with Jeremy Jones” is an instructional video that covers the basics of learning how to ride handrails and park features. Bringing years of experience to the project Jeremy teaches you the following tricks: Backside Boardslides, Frontside Boardslides, Backside 50-50′, Frontside 50-50′s, Backside Lipslides, Frontside Lipslides, Nose Presses, Switch Nose Presses, 5-0′s and Switch 5-0′s. He also teaches several variations of these tricks to round the video out. This video is shot in Super 16mm film and all tricks are explained in detail by one of the masters of the sport.
