This spectacular live concert sees Toto celebrating their 35th Anniversary at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland during their 2013 World Tour. The show epitomises the combination of craft, heart and drive that has been Toto s trademark throughout their career in a set packed with hits and classic album tracks. The individual band members have played on many of the best known and most successful records in history but when they come together as Toto they create music that is uniquely special. This is Toto at their very best.
In 2009, in celebration of her new album Love Is the Answer, Barbra Streisand announced she would perform one special concert at the Village Vanguard in New York City, New York. Streisand was backed by a quartet consisting of Tamir Hendelman (piano), Jeff Carney (bass), Brian Koonin (guitar) and Ray Marchica (drums). The audience included special guests and celebrity friends of Streisand such as Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Barry Diller and Diane von Fürstenberg, Rosie O'Donnell, Sandy Gallin, Frank Rich, Donna Karan, Lea Michele, and Nicole Kidman, as well as 100 competition winners.
Filmed during her North American concert tour in 2006, legendary vocalist Barbra Streisand captivates her audience with renditions of her best-loved hits, including "The Way We Were" and "People," as well as 14 songs that she's never before sung live, such as "Down With Love" and "Come Rain or Come Shine." Streisand is also joined by popular operatic quartet Il Divo on a night to remember.
A Happening in Central Park was performed and taped by video cameras on Saturday, June 17, 1967. The concert, sponsored by Rheingold Beer, and free to the public, was held in the Sheep Meadow section of New York City's Central Park. Barbra's television sponsor, Monsanto, captured the event on videotape for airing on CBS at a later date. Barbra took a weekend off from the filming of Funny Girl to perform the concert. On Friday night, June 16th, Barbra and crew rehearsed until very late. Many photos of Barbra in which she wears a headband were taken the evening of the dress rehearsal. (The cover of Barbra's A Christmas Album is actually a photo from the Friday night dress rehearsal in Central Park.) On that evening she tried on different gowns and worked with hairdresser Fred Glaser on alternate hairstyles. Director Robert Scheerer also worked out some of his camera blocking at the Friday night rehearsal. He utilized seven color video cameras to capture the concert.
A leading Czech chamber ensemble performs compositions by H. Krása, E. Schulhoff, and A. Dvořák on the occasion of a memorial event commemorating the deportation of Jews from Prague's Holešovice railway station, Praha Bubny, during World War II... The Memorial of Silence is a project that has been in development for several years at the Praha Bubny railway station. This place of remembrance, which witnessed the deportation of nearly 50,000 Prague citizens of Jewish origin, is thus awakening to new significance. In addition to developing a project to convert the railway station into a place of remembrance, an educational and communication center, the Memorial of Silence team has been preparing dozens of seasonal events for several years. Their aim is to find a language for public communication for a modern memorial that seeks to commemorate war stories and events without false pathos.
An oratorio about the conflict between earthly and heavenly love, with which the Italian composer applied for the position of Kapellmeister at the Viennese court, will be performed in a period style. The main character, Magdalene, is a popular figure in works of art with religious themes. She was identified with the sinner in Luke's Gospel, who after her conversion became one of Jesus' closest companions. In the first part, Mary Magdalene decides whether to choose the path of worldly pleasures or to repent and devote her life to God. In the second part of the oratorio, we find ourselves in the house of the Pharisee, who doubts the sincerity of Magdalene's repentance...
Janáček's three-act opera Katya Kabanova, staged by Barrie Kosky and staged at the Felsenreitschule by Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša with an international cast of soloists, was performed on August 7 at the 2022 Salzburg Festival. The opera is based on the play The Storm by Aleksandr Ostrovsky. Set in a small Russian town, the story revolves around Káta, who is trapped in a loveless marriage to an abusive man named Boris. When she meets and falls in love with a young man named Vána Kudrjáš, she finally experiences happiness and passion. But their relationship is short-lived, as Boris finds out and forces Káta to confess her infidelity in front of the entire town. The opera explores themes of social conformity, oppression, and the consequences of forbidden love. Stage director Barrie Kosky creates an intimate but impressive setting in the magnificent Felsenreitschule.

Karel Gott's Christmas concert in 2005 was recorded in a studio in Kavčí Hory, with an audience, but that did not detract from the excellent atmosphere. The singer himself hosted the concert and personally introduced his guests, who included Jiří Korn with 4TET, Věra Gondolánová, the Polish girl group The Sound Office, and master impersonator Vladimír Hron. The exclusive guest was world-renowned opera singer Eva Urbanová. And Gott's greatest hits in new arrangements were also featured.
