Originally a collection of clips from the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV series, Death was created as a precursor to the re-worked ending of the series. Rebirth was intended as that re-worked ending, but after production overruns Rebirth became only the first half of the first part of The End of Evangelion, with some minor differences.

After his village it is brutally attacked by bandits, and his family gets murdered, Jun plans on seeking out distant relatives in Shanghai. On the way he is forced to join a criminal gang after they witness his martial arts skills. After a long and arduous journey, Jun eventual finds refuge at the Jin Wu Martial Arts Academy.

Seven years after the defeat of the spiral king, Simon and the Dai-Gurren brigade must set out to the vastness of space to defeat a new threat and save the universe.

Like the Japanese Special Editions of other Gundam and Sunrise anime series, this is the second of three volumes, that will condense the first half of the second season of Gundam 00 into feature-length videos. They all feature some new animated sequences and some partially re-recorded dialogue.

Shikidouji, the illustrator of Shoji Gatoh's Full Metal Panic! light novel series, revealed that production has been green-lit on a "director's cut" version of the first Full Metal Panic!! television anime series from 2002. With enhanced animation and a theme song by GACKT, the tragic romance of Kamille and Four unfolds in this second part of the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam feature trilogy.
