X Japan's very last live concert on December 31, 1997 at Tokyo Dome. The show was important in two ways, since it marked the end of a band but it became the starting point for some outstanding solo careers.

As glam rock's most flamboyant survivors, X Japan ignited a musical revolution in Japan during the late '80s with their melodic metal. Twenty years after their tragic dissolution, X Japan’s leader, Yoshiki, battles with physical and spiritual demons alongside prejudices of the West to bring their music to the world.

On May 2, 1998, Hide, a leading Japanese rock musician who had been active as a guitarist for X JAPAN and as a solo artist (hide with Spread Beaver/zilch), suddenly passed away. His funeral was attended by about 50,000 people and became a social phenomenon as all of Japan wept at his untimely farewell. His younger brother, Hiroshi Matsumoto, who was Hide's manager, started to work with Hide's co-producer I.N.A., who had been working on a song with Hide, and his friends to make his brother's will come true. Yuji and I.N.A. struggle under the unusual circumstance that Hide himself is not present, but they are confronted with various difficulties.

X Japan Returns 1993.12.31 is an X Japan live DVD, released on February 29, 2008. It contains the band's performance at the Tokyo Dome on December 31, 1993.

Going to see Nutcracker with the whole family has been a tradition in other countries for many years. Now it is a tradition in the Netherlands as well. It became apparent that the Netherlands had also adopted this tradition in 1996, when the Dutch National Ballet presented its own version of the famous fairytale ballet. It is a magical production that has won the hearts of more than 250,000 people to date. Choreographers Toer van Schayk and Wayne Eagling created a Nutcracker for the children and adults of today. It is more dynamic and exciting, and less sweet than usual. They also chose to give a Dutch twist to their interpretation of the story, with skaters on the canals and a living room that transforms into a snowy forest. Unlike the original story, the production by Eagling and Van Schayk (who also designed the delightful sets and costumes) does not take place on Christmas Eve in a German town, but during St. Nicholas celebrations in Amsterdam, around 1810.

The third day of the platinum jubilee celebrations continues with a spectacular evening of entertainment. The concert at Buckingham Palace features a glittering array of global stars and performers from the worlds of music and dance to celebrate 70 years of HM the Queen’s reign. As darkness falls, stunning projections illuminate the palace during the performances.
