With this performance of the Missa solemnis Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Honorary Guest Conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, once more attained the status of a living legend, due mostly to his wide-ranging expertise of music from the Baroque and Classical era. The highly acclaimed soloists are Marlis Petersen (Soprano), twice the singer of the year by the renowned Opernwelt magazine, Elisabeth Kulman (Alto), Werner Güra (Tenor), winner of the BBC Music Magazine Award for the best vocal performance, and Gerald Finley (Bass), Grammy-Awardwinner for the best opera recording. They are accompanied by the famous Netherlands Radio Choir.

It brought back fantastic memories of having had the privilege of seeing Monsieur Aznavour at Carnegie Hall in 1980. Each song on this DVD is a jewel. I enjoyed his brief introductions to explain or translate some of the lyrics, setting the mood. Notable among them is "Mon émouvant amour" during which he uses sign language. The selections offer us a broad spectrum of emotion and life - love (of course), frustration, lost opportunity, reflection, homosexuality, religion. The orchestra and backup vocalists are flawless. Although he's performed for decades, I got the feeling that he still loves to interact with his audience. Although in his early 70's when this concert was recorded, his passion, supreme musicality, stamina, and professionalism are evident at all times. This DVD is a "must-have" for newcomers and longtime fans!

Zuzana Lapčíková's Christmas jazz project. The Advent and Christmas songs of singer and cimbalom player Zuzana Lapčíková are based on ancient hymnals and orally transmitted melodies. Together with her quintet, however, she transforms them into contemporary, jazz-influenced music that oscillates between genres. On one day during the pre-Christmas period, musicians gathered in the Gothic church of St. Catherine in Šebrov to perform a musical mass for the locals. In an intimate chamber atmosphere, full of silence and humility before the Creator, Zuzana Lapčíková's original project "Panna Marija přečistá" (The Blessed Virgin Mary) resounds.

Kpop girl group, BLACKPINK held a successful concert at the Tokyo Dome. The show was attended by about 55,000 fans and was full of energetic and dynamic performances. They performed at the Tokyo Dome for the first time as part of their "BLACKPINK 2019–2020 World Tour". Beginning their musical career in the late 80's until the early 90's, the band took an extended break, until reforming once again in 2004. This recording captures their first ever all acoustic performance filmed at the famous Newport Folk Festival.

The Pixies are one of the most influential American acts of all time. Initially spanning the late eighties and early nineties they created the blueprint for alternative rock that would be followed and embellished upon by everyone from grunge to Britpop.
