A group of dancers congregate on the stage of a Broadway theatre to audition for a new musical production directed by Zach. After the initial eliminations, seventeen hopefuls remain, among them Cassie, who once had a tempestuous romantic relationship with Zach. She is desperate enough for work to humble herself and audition for him; whether he's willing to let professionalism overcome his personal feelings about their past remains to be seen.

Dia is a divorced mom living in New York and must go back to India after she receives news that her guru is on his death bed. When she arrives she finds he is gone and has left her the responsibility of saving and reviving the Ajanta Theater where she used to dance. The problem is that the political officers want it torn down and turned into a shopping mall. The storyline follows Dia and her challenge to stand up for what she believes in and fight the cause to the end, while trying to win back the love and support of the people of the town whom she walked out on ten years prior.

Cyrano, a brilliant poet and swordsman, is secretly in love with his old friend Roxanne. However, his abnormally large nose gets in the way of telling her his feelings for her. De Guiche is a young officer from a noble family, and he is also in love with Roxanne, a young woman with a feisty and cheerful personality. De Guiche makes advances at her at every chance he gets, but he is constantly turned down. Roxanne falls in love with Christian, a soldier who recently joined Cyrano's regiment, and she ask Cyrano to watch over him. Instead of Christian, Cyrano writes beautiful love letters to Roxanne, and Roxanne who believes that the letters were written by Christian becomes certain of her love for him. A war breaks out, and De Guiche dispatches Christian and Cyrano to the frontline as a way of getting his revenge for being turned down by Roxanne. Cyrano promises distressed Roxanne that he’ll make sure Christian is safe…

In 1897, actor, director, producer and theatre company leader Kawakami Otojiro set off on a tour of the USA with his wife Sadayakko and theatre company members, but in a foreign country where he could not speak the language, he had to struggle against a succession of adversities, including lawyers absconding with the proceeds and actors going on strike. One day, however, Otojiro arrives in Boston on his arduous tour and sees a packed house for a performance of The Merchant of Venice by the famous British actor Henry Irving. In just one night of rehearsals, they concoct a Japanese version of The Merchant of Venice, and perform the play to a foreign audience with bullshit dialogue and a reckless performance that can be cut short by "Sucharaka poko poko" when they get stuck on a word.
