After experiencing recurring dreams of a princess and a general from a fallen kingdom, Fang Li travels to Luya Mountain in search of answers. There, she meets a novelist whose appearance and writings mirror her dreams, drawing them into a mystery that links the present to a tragic love story from a thousand years ago.
