The Marvellous Wreath

A fantasized portrayal of Polish auteur Walerian Borowczyk, Boro discovers a cruel and obscene world. He experiences banal yet colorful adventures, caressing erotic birds and organic cameras in a phantasmagorical alphabet.

During the holidays at his grandparent's village, John meets Mary, a mysterious girl who tells the terrifying legend surrounding the peasant's old house. John, unlike the character in the tale, is fearful. Mary is not.

Disappointed with the other members' bland efforts, one member brings in Charley Bowers, who has an extraordinary tale to tell. Charley claims to have invented a magic potion that enables him to grow absolutely anything by a simple grafting process, and he proceeds to tell his story to the club.

He spent thirteen years writing a biography, La Divine Comtesse, which appeared in 1913. After her death, he collected 433 of her photographs, all of which entered the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
