Canyon of the Fools

The film follows the title character—a legendary frontiersman—as he seeks retribution against outlaws. It served as a direct sequel to How Richard Harris Became Known as Deadwood Dick (1915) and was followed by Deadwood Dick and the Mormons (1915).

When a cowpoke steps into a fight and saves the life of a disreputable gambler, the gambler decides to reciprocate by revealing to his new-found friend the truth about the cowpoke's fiancée.

A love quadrangle in a Western mining town leads to fisticuffs and reconciliation before the fade out.

Agnes Cuyler, a cabaret singer in New York who loathes her work, is fired for slapping Grant Haywood, a customer from the West who tries to kiss her. Haywood begs forgiveness and after glorifying the clean Western life, proposes. To escape her circumstances, Agnes accepts, but soon learns that Haywood is a brutal drunkard.

A young woman inherits her father's large Texas ranch and plans to begin a cattle drive to Abilene, Kansas, 1000 miles away. The crooked State Treasurer plans to attack the cattle drive and steal all of the stock so he can gain control of her ranch.

To protect the man caring for her son, she secretly ties Tucson’s pistol into its holster with a rawhide thong, ensuring he cannot draw his weapon during their final showdown.

Cowboy Jack Carter, the proud owner of the Australian shepherd Bunk, accepts the challenge of corralling 10,000 wild horses within a 10-day period. With the enormous sum for his efforts, Jack prepares to propose to Jessie Hayden. Unfortunately, Jack's rival, Charlie Champion, seeks to stop him from achieving both of his goals.

Early silent screen leading man Roy Stewart played a dual-role in this independently produced "Northwestern" about identical twins, separated at birth, who grow up on opposite sides of the law.

Dennis Terhune, ranch foreman for John Morgan, an eastern capitalist, discovers that there is oil on Morgan's ranch shortly after Morgan has deeded the ranch to Daley, western manager for the Morgan properties. Dennis rides after Daley and retrieves the deed, saving Morgan's ranch and securing for himself the love of the financier's daughter, Eunice.

Langley Barnes goes to the North Country to seek peace, after being deserted by his wife, and falls in love with Christine, the daughter of Angus Garth, a factor made mad by the isolation. Despite the fact that he is not divorced, Langley marries Christine in an illegal ceremony. Captain Churchill arrives to erect a radio transmitter and, returning to the United States, marries Langley's wife, who has in the interim obtained a divorce. Churchill broadcasts news of the divorce to the North Country, and Langley and Christine can now become legally married.

Silent cowboy western starring Tom Mix, Bernard Bolden, Dorothy Dwan, Barney Furey, Albert J. Smith, and Ernest Wilson. Also, note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Parker, an Army lieutenant at a Western outpost, falls in love with Barbara Taylor, daughter of his commanding officer. But when Barbara rejects him, Parker fights with another soldier and deserts. An Indian attack gives him a chance to redeem himself.

This silent Western features Tom Mix as a rancher who goes to Washington to affect better conditions for the anonymous man of the soil. Having lost his money to some scheming lobbyists, Mix, unaware that oil has been found on his property, stakes his possessions on wonder horse Tony winning the big race.

Buck and Charlie, two hard-boiled cowboys, arrive at the Bar Nothing Ranch in Arizona and determine to take advantage of the peculiarity of the owner, Fred Saunders, known as "Lone Hand" because he never uses his right hand.

Pinto Ben is a pink-nosed cow-pony. A hundred head of cattle are rounded up for beef to be shipped alive to Chicago. Ben and his master, with Segundo Jim, are put in charge. In the Chicago stockyards, men who don't know range-bred cattle from a herd of mountain goats, calmly inform Jim and Ben's master that the steers are to be driven into the big pen. At the same instant two or three stock hands run behind the herd and begin shouting and waving their arms to start the cattle. The beasts, a thousand strong, with horns and hoofs beating the air, bellowing their rage, glaring with bloodshot eyes, thunder into the chute. The two men in front prepare for their death ride. Suddenly Pinto Ben flattens himself before a high, iron-bound gate, and leaps. The pony cleans the gate. The great wave of scorching breath falls back on the other side. Ben's master finds himself sitting on the ground, the head of his dying horse in his lap.

Chasing the man who had caused the death of his sister, Jack Walsh rescues Mary Winters from the unwanted attentions of a drunk, and learns that she has been lured to Mexico by the false promises of an ex-prizefighter "Kayo" Mooney. The latter kidnaps Mary but Jack wins the showdown and Mary, and finds that Mooney is the man he was looking for.
